Jesus JS what kind of BS are you pulling here?
You can't leave in the midst of a downturn in Phins football....... Quitter!
You were one of the only posters that helped me keep my sanity through the Fiedler years!
You cannot leave me now!
In all seriousness, I hope you keep fighting and are able to be one of the few that beat the odds.
I can't imagine..... it's got to be tough to be facing this.
I hope you are surrounded by friends and family during this time and can find some peace in all this.
Always a Phin brother.
Keep the faith.
RIP Jetssuck
JS..you are loved..make no mistake about it
When I say you are on the prayer list, once again, make no mistake..a moment shall not pass
Very sorry to hear this, bro.
You've always been a class act in my eyes and it's a shame that bad things happen to good people. However please don't lose hope because your attitude can make all the difference. I've seen my father survive cancer twice and he always tells me that it was his attitude that made the difference. I hope things take a drastic turn for you but just don't lose hope. I know we'll all have you in our prayers.
Please say all the things you need to say to the ones who need to hear them and NEVER give up hope.
JS, I don't think I "know" you...might have responded to or given you a fist pump here or there, but the one thing I do know is people and you? You are a damned good man.
It's quite obvious you've touched the hearts of so many here, especially "Sick". His post really touched my heart...and if you've touched the heart of so many within the message boards of a website, I can only imagine the hearts of those you've spent time with in your day to day life.
I wish you nothing but the very best. Do not be resigned to your illness for if you do, you've already surrendered.
-Never quit
-Never surrender
-Fight...fight for your loved ones
And if your fight fails, for your loved ones left behind (I'm assuming wife and children/grandchildren) to ease their pain prior to your leaving be sure...be absolutely sure they know that when they think of you, do not do so in sorrow. No tears, no pain, no sadness. Be sure they know when they think of you, you want them to remember all of the good times they had with you, nothing but good memories so when they do think of you, a comforting smile comes across their face, a sense of peace knowing that you are stil there with them.
You're not gone yet and I hope and pray you're around with us for some time, so I won't say goodbye, but I will end this post with the greatest gesture of respect towards you that I can provide...

May God Bless you and your family.

Wow JS, my forum friend... I am stunned right now by your words...
Don't know why things in life turn ****ty or nice for some people, but as an avid Star Trek fan (since TOS), I can tell you that, "how we face death is just as important as how we have faced life." I have become a believer in that and as we go into that later part in our lifetime here on this rock, our view of it and our understanding of it must broaden to expect the un-expected...
This is not the end of your journey my friend, IMHO, but a continuing journey that will enhance our essence that leads to a blissfull stage...
The hard part of this is those around you JS, that will miss everything that you are and have been, through this lifetime my friend... They...we...all will miss you...
But through it all your legacy will live on... as long as we remember you...
God bless you and your family JS...

Brother, I love and respect you for how you've shown up here with class, loyalty and passion, for what a good person you are in the face of difficult circumstances, and for enduring the crappy Dolphins teams since Marino with unwavering commitment. A man who can do that can do anything.
Peace and acceptance are things that help in dire circumstances but I encourage you to embrace the idea that hope and acceptance are not mutually exclusive. Hope for a good outcome, but accept whatever happens. I say this because many of us here selfishly want to keep you around, as we care about you. The same probably goes for your family. Fight for your life, but with a serenity of acceptance whatever the outcome, like a team that must know it left its best effort on the field in order to be content, whatever the scoreboard reads at the end.
For that reason, sir, I beg that you go to the following website and watch the videos and order the book "Choose Life" (or PM me your address and I'll mail you my copy). The woman who wrote it had her husband have a brain hemorrhage paralyze him, then he and her both got diagnosed with late stage cancers. The book and her website are realistic about the hardships of this struggle but very inspiring. Maybe it will help.

I hope you give it a look. And I hope it is some comfort and help.
God bless you. Hope to see you again.
p.s. - maybe I am just an inappropriate douche, but I have to ask (and hope it gives you a chuckle).. If you did end up in heaven (though I pray for your recovery) and found out God was a Jets fan what would you do?
Not sure what more I can say other than what the last two users said so eloquently. I hope everyone, not just myself, find true inspiration in you and how you have lived your life. In honor of you, I dedicate this and every season to seeing the Jets suck in eternity. I hope this puts a smile on your face:

JS, death is a part of life many don't like to think about, and you are handling it with strength and dignity. You are doing the best thing for your friends and family. Stay strong. Stay positive. No doubt, you are inspiring those around you.
JS, you have my prayers. Your family has my prayers.
I lost my wife to cancer, now nearly 8 years ago. I have watched hundreds die from that acursed disease as a parish pastor. Each went through their journey differently.
I commend your dignity. I hope you are getting the best spiritual and family support you can. If I can offer any referals, I would be honored to help.
This week in the Christian faith is called "Holy Week". We observe, remember and celebrate how we believe God has worked good through terrible evil. I pray you and your family may find some of that resurrection hope.

Much respect to you JS. You have a great attitude, and I hope you and your family enjoy each other for many more years. I too salute you. :salute:
JS,
Now that I read this incredibly sad news, I notice I've been really missing your posts around here lately and the smile your username always brings to my face. And now I know why. I hope for nothing but the best for you. Most of all that you are around for at least one more Miami Dolphins football season. I hope you can find peace in the difficult days ahead. Thoughts and prayers!
Had you posted this a couple of days ago, I probably would have laughed at such a clever April Fool's prank. As it is, I'm sitting here in front of my keyboard, wondering if this is some sort of sick joke.
I'm not best person at these types of things (I'm a damn viking after all) but I'd be lying if I didn't say I had tears in my eyes.
I can't pretend to know what you are going through, though I have seen friends and loved ones fight cancer, so it most certainly is possible. My maternal grandfather was diagnosed with terminal bladder cancer and was given 6 months to either have his bladder removed, or have the cancer consume his body. My grandfather, stubborn as he is, chose to ignore his treatment and faced his cancer head on, refusing to face the indignity of using a colostomy bag to go to the bathroom.
That was more than 2 years ago.
You, my friend, are cut from the same sort of cloth. Don't give in to this thing. Fight it, and fight it well. The journey won't be easy and there will be times you want to give up, but I urge you to continue. While you have lived a rich and full life, there's still so much more to see and do ... and of course more chances to watch the J-E-T-S Suck Suck Suck.
I hope that you can find a way to continue to update us on your progress, as you've got many friends here, and we've got your back as you fight through this thing.
I wont pretend to know all the details of your situation, but your still alive and breathing? Why does the battle have to be over, because its not. Keep fighting man, doctors have made many mistakes and miscalculations (Drew Brees ring a bell). Dont give up so easily, and dont stop doing the things you enjoy the most in life.
See you in the mains after week 1.

Damn it, I've been wondering where there hell you have been, and now I know....Iam sorry brother..JS you were always cool to me, always saying the right things, sometimes in very endearing ways, you just had this way about you that made me feel like we would be good friends if we ever did meet..I always respected your mind and the way you handled your business around here, noone ever beat JS on a debate, no one, I can remember some people would come here and try to be an *******e, JS would intellectually fu$& them in the head, and they never would be seen again...Honestly I can't remember how many times since I first met you on the boards I have said to myself, where the hell is JS damn it..
You do what you wanna do to deal with this situation, and I wish you strength from me to you you bad ass mother grabber, but I know Iam not the only one who thinks this, we would love to have you around here during it and not have this be your last post.
If not that's freakin fine too man, peace my brother..

Damn. Like it has been said and Im sure you already know, make sure you use your time properly with the ones you love. At least you have been given that opportunity. But on the flip side, my Grandfather was given 6 months to live from cancer, 6 years ago. Hes still alive and kicking and cancer free. You seem like a good guy with a great attitude, I have faith you can beat this thing no matter what the doctors say, and you should to!
Good luck Brother!

I wish I had something to say here to keep you around, to change fate or destiny's plans but none of us do. It's been real brother. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family...wish i could offer more but that'll have to do. Go spend your last days with family and friends and know we will be here if you need us. In the words of Jimmy V: don't ever give up :)
May our Lord give you peace and act accordingly to His will. Why do bad things happen to good people? Because there is no rhyme or reason in this world with evil. All we can do, and I will do, is pray for God's mercy to cover our brother and that the Lord comfort him in this time.
May our Lord heal you my brother and give peace to your family.
