QB Matt Moore Is Due 5.5 Million In 2014; Do You Replace Him??

Trade him. And Devlin would be a fine second string.

Spend that money on the OL. I like Matt Moore, but I'd rather have a running game than a decent backup QB.

This is so far down my list of concerns at this point.

I mean, we have a sociopath using a mentally-handicapped guy's checkbook to stock the larder for a guy who flatlined years ago.

It's almost irrelevant what happens with Matt Moore.

I am fine with Devlin

I like Matt Moore, but it'd be hard to see him surviving with that salary. Devlin has been the coaching staff's pet project and he has seemed to improve the last few years. I'd be comfortable giving him a shot as the backup.

If we don't fix the line or if Ireland keeps up with his master plan, unfortunately we may need Matt Moore.

You people are nuts if you trust Devlin with the backup job, dude was not only terrible in training camp...he was unwatchable.

Devlin won't be our backup... we're drafting a back up in a deep QB draft... How can anyone be okay with just Tannehill, the guy needs competition.... And what if Tannehill gets his knees blown out, you're fine with Devlin? Hell no...

He will renegotiate that deal and get it to around $2 million. Either that or he has to move his family elsewhere, for the same money and the same job description.

Devlin is not a back up. I like the concept of having a young quarterback as the third guy to groom to eventually be a competent back up. Those guys only get so much time. Draft another one this year, have him beat Devlin for the gig.

Insignificant?????????? We could re-sign Clemons with that cap room; or acquire Matt Slauson or Jon Asamoah, or at least Al Woods or Ropati Pitoitua if Starks and Soliai Walk.

4 mil is a lot of cap space.

I'd rather draft Jimmy Garoppolo or even Conner Shaw late and keep my 4 mil for UFA's or to bring back Grimes.

Obviously you didn't watch, as he was the best of the three in the preseason games (two years in a row). He was the only QB to consistently move the ball, had the highest QBR, completion %, and drives into the redzone. You mean you trust Matt Moore? He had his chance to save our season in the last game after our trusted starting QB couldn't do it and...

Get rid of him. That's way too much cash for a backup IMO. Not sure I'd trust Devlin as the backup. I'd maybe bring in another cheap backup from somewhere else to replace Moore and then see how it goes with Devlin.

A QB needs competition when he is too comfortable being the starter and just going through the motions to get better. Mark Sanchez needed competition. Whether you think Tannehill is the guy or not, he has shown that he takes the position seriously and by all accounts works hard at improving. Tannehill doesn't need competition to motivate him and the team has too many other holes to waste a significant pick on a QB.

Actually yes I'm fine with Devlin. I've maintained his entire time here that he will be borderline starter/great backup material in the NFL. Loved his colleve tape.

I'm fine with Devlin and drafting another QB.

I mean I look at it and say ya...that's an easy 5.5m to save. I have zero faith in Ireland to find an OL that's suitable. I have zero faith in the coaching staff to put that line in a position to play well, coach them up. I habe zero faith in them to improve, coach up Tannehill's pocket presence.

Thinking of those factors, I think it's a must to have a backup of the quality of Moore because Tannehill won't get through anotjer season of this..

Delvin and then draft another QB later in the draft to compete with Delvin.

thats just more money that needs to go to o line. yes, drop him.

I don't see Moore as a good fit and don't see anyway to justify his return at that salary.

Brian Hoyer would rip the starting job right out of Ryan Tannehills heart....Ok...maybe not that easy but bringing in Hoyer would mean major major competition for Ryan Tannehill. I Love what I saw out of Hoyer in the games he played this year. Guy just gets it man...Ultra quick release, smart, and can lead. I'd love it if we signed him to push Tannehill.
