Blame the coaches, their play calling and defensive schemes - looking at you prevent defense on 3rd and long - didn't give us much of a chance to win this game.

10+ years of that has taught me that the prevent never. Ever. Works. Ever.gilv13, Bpk, btdickey99 and 1 other person like this. -
Another thing is the offense looks good with L Miller out there, we were actually running the ball with success... I actually think the big turn in the game was when the Dolphins had 3rd and an inch and they ran it to the weak side with D Thomas....wtf

Oh yea and to add that Nolan Carroll has had 2 TDs scored on him

On pace for 72 QBs sack this year.

And one of these years they will learn to stop the screen pass as well as exececute it themselves.

Can they at least make it respectable? I figured we'd lose, but I was thinking a 10 point loss or so. This is just pathetic...I mean, the BUCS were within 2 points of the Saints in the Superdome.
Speaking of the Bucs, maybe we'll finally not get dominated in primetime against them?? Its been a while since we didn't get embarassed in primetime...2009? -
We seem to be the primetime highlight reel for other teams. -

Tack on another loss to Ireland's record, FIreland crew !

I just have one question, did we really improve when we made changes to the linebacker position? Honestly, I rather have Dansby and Burnett.

By title this thread belongs in the rants section.
Nothing good to come out of this but a bunch of haters to pop up.
We lost to a very good team in a very tough place to play, with our best defender on the bench.
3-1 and young. I'm looking ahead already.RevRick, Ducken, gilv13 and 1 other person like this. -
The game reminded me of a couple years back when they played Houston and no matter the yardage Houston threw it up to Andre Johnson and he got it, no matter how many people were draped on him...

But yes I do agree with you about being 3-1 at this point and still young with some winable games coming upPariah likes this. -

Also consider: Tannehill, who still has much maturing to do but has the tools, intellect and coaches to develop him (Philbin made Aaron Rodgers one of the best QB's in the NFL), and he still hasn't played more than 42 games starting at QB after high school. Tannehill also handed over IMO 24 points to the Saints with his turnovers (correctable, and Philbin will get that fixed). Take away those 24 points, we go to overtime at 17-17, or better because at least one of the turnovers was within FG range. We have a number of key injuries on the Defense, and this is only Coyle's 2nd year as DC, plus he has several players starting that didn't start last year.
As for Wallace, you have to realize Sherman is his 3rd OC in 3 years, his first year under Philbin and with Tannehill. Give him some more time to learn the offense enough to where he can think less and use his physical skills more naturally, develop more synergy with Tannehill, and I do expect to see much more out of Wallace as the season progresses.
Hey folks, even if we lose to the Ravens at home, which I don't think we will, we would have a 3-2 record going into the much needed bye week. That bodes well for us at least having a winning season, thus returning our GM (hush Ireland haters) and most of our coaching staff. If this happens, and I believe it will, we will have consistency and will hopefully add 2-3 impact players plus hopefully strengthen the OL in the draft or FA in the offseason, then look out AFC in 2014!
As pissed off as I am at Tannehill for his play last night, we've found our franchise QB and can build around him and this receiving corps for the next 10+ years. At least that's what Gruden implied several times tonight, and he's no slouch.
Smile Dolfans, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The Falcons were 30 yards from the Super Bowl last year and they are 1-3, we are 3-1 and have more things to be hopeful about than we have to complain about IMVHO. :up:Ducken and Kingtut561 like this. -
meh we're just not ready for master class football but no reason to hate on 3-1 start. I was hoping to be 2-2 by week 5 and the ravens look beatable so could be 4-1 maybe.
-
I will say however, that my comments on the D go beyond this week and into last week. With that said, we were suffering the same injuries last week. Hopefully this game lights a collective fire under everyones ***. The most concerning aspect is the absolute frustration that was evident in the play after that failed first drive in the second half. If we never see that again this season, I'm happy.
Lick the wounds and play with some fire next week...all you can do...PhinsRock likes this. -
If Wallace is going to drop the deep pass in his basket at least run a god damn bubble screen and let him get it in space and get yac.
Frustrating. -
