a DT, OLB, WR. I'd exchange the WR for a CB/FS/SS but that may just be me.
edit:
unless culver/jason allen step up. -
B.J. Raji will be drafted in the first two rounds.
-
Raji has fell in my eyes. There is no question that evander hood, peria jerry, demarcus granger, senderrick marks and terrence taylor are superior players

B.J. Raji/DT-NT/Boston College: Raji, who sat on the sidelines in 2007 with academic issues, has not missed a beat since returning. He's been a force in the middle for a Boston College rushing defense that ranks second in the ACC and gives up just 106 yards per game. -
In the mock(s), I would say that Taylor Mays is too high, Rey Maualuga is too high, this is the first time I've seen Kenny Britt in the first, more of a second rounder and why the Chiefs taking Jenkins? They have two guys in Brandon Carr and Brandon Flowers that they like a lot. Just wondering because that's what I've heard. Brandon Spikes too low, no? Evander Hood will be a first rounder IMO. As NJ said, Raji will be in the first two rounds. Sintim at 45??? I still don't understand Chancellor going so high. He has struggled this year and hasn't played as physical as last year. I saw him in the FSU game get beat. -
* We should see b/c I would love to grab Terrence Taylor in Round 3 if possible. But remeber every mock in the world had Dan Conner in Round 1 last year and he was drafted in Round 3.
* Rey Maualuga is too high? May I ask why? He is the best linebacker in this draft and selecting at #2 is a bengals team who cannot stop anyone. Maualuga is a beast and if you don't know who he is, go youtube and you will never see a player who can match his ability and intensity.
* Taylor Mays is rated very high and is probably the best safety in the draft. I am not as high on him as most but there is no question there is alot of buzz surrounding Mays.
* Kenny Britt reminds me of Terrell Owens. His size is impressive and I see no way Britt last to Round 2.
*Malcolm jenkins is better than Carr and Flowers. Not too mention that Carr has not been playing lights out by any means. oh and last time I checked the Chiefs had 1 win and were terrible. They hope that a junior QB comes out but I don't see Bradford, McCoy, Tebow, Stafford , or Sanchez coming out. Not too mention that Jenkins is drawing comparisons to Champ Bailey.
* Is Stintim at #45 too high or low? -
The key to the draft to remeber that there are many good player. Each Round is only 32 picks. Not everyone can be a 1st Rounder....

Who declares IYO? It's hard to tell. It hought Stafford and Moreno but after the butt whipping they took I don't think so.. -
Bradford won't come out. McCoy has said he's staying and with plenty of youth on that Texas team and unlikely to win the Title, I think he'll stay. Stafford absolutely needs to stay, but his decision may depend on Knowshon Moreno, Tebow isn't an NFL QB, Sanchez is overrated, Freeman is nice but it's a year too soon and Groethe is far too inconsistent to ever be considered in round 1.alen1 likes this. -

Let's just take Darius Passmore WR from Marshall University with our first pick?
Or Cody Slate TE from Marshall?
Speaking of those guys Boomer, you know anything about them? I'm guessing, no. Both are good players though. Cody Slate reminds me alot of Greg Olsen--fast, big, strong, and a WR type. -
I agree with your opinion on Junior QB's but I don't think the GM's of the NFL teams will. I thin Tebow will be a 1st Rounder, I think Sanchez will as well despite being overrated. McCoy and Bradford are the only ones worthwhile IMO.

Agreed with the consensus, dont think that Bradford or Colt come out.
Also, Rey Maualuga is easily the most over-rated player I have seen in sometime. The handfull of USC games I have seen, he really has a tough time stopping people. University of Arizona ran ALL OVER HIM.
I could easily live with the three you have slated for the Phins..that would be very very nice indeed
Good effort RD. Thanks -
Maybe that's why! -
-
Ya. He's a smaller TE, but he's a helluva receiver. I expect him to run in the range of 4.5-4.6, I really do. Now whether he's viewed as a TE or not in the NFL I don't know.
You're right though Boomer. He doesn't block and he's not asked to. That's Lee Smith our 6'7 TE who I expect to get some looks as well in the draft--he's a transfer from Tennessee (Brad Cottam mold).
Glad you know those guys. I don't expect Passmore to run that. I'm thinking more 4.4-4.5. He's very good WR though. Needs to work a little on his routes, because he isn't asked to run different ones, but he's quick, he's athletic as anyone we've had since Moss. He reminds me of a more sure-handed Chris Chambers actually. -
Michael Crabtree is nasty good
-
I don't see Rey Maualuga is even one of the Top 10 overrated players in this draft. I think rey is going to be a stud
-
He was a high school QB who has played exactly one and a half seasons at WR. Seasoned 4 year starters go to the NFL and struggle mightily, let alone kids who will have just 2 years experience of the position. I doubt he's ever run more than half the routes on the route tree in Mike Leach's offense and when you look at the struggles a much more well rounded WR in Calvin Johnson had last year, you know that Crabtree won't contribute very much in his first season or 2.
Is he talented? Absolutely so. But does he have the speed to consistently get off press coverage and can he contribute early in a non timing, spread offense? -
p.s. Good to see that Ted Ginn is improving. I was surprised to see him temporarily removed from KR duties, punt return not so much. His 2nd gear is great, 1st gear is average, and that just doesn't cut it for PR. -
Coming out of Day 1 with Sen'Derrick Marks, Clint Sintim and Juaquin Iglesias strikes me as a very pie-in-the-sky type of prediction. I mean, I could be wrong, you never know by the time everything shakes out, but either way I do not think that Sintim falls to that level, and while it's certainly possible for Iglesias to fall to the lower 2nd round...I'm not sure I see it YET...

Because I'm bored, because its's 6:52 AM ET, and because I know that my opinion isn't worth a stick of gum, I'm going to go on record: the Fins take S Williiam Moore of Missourri with their 1st rd pick in 2009. Thx Will Allen for the big plays at CB, but I'm not all that thrilled with Reynaldo Hill- Culver has potential, but Moore is the real deal and nearly a sure thing- I see few of those in the class of 2009. I am intrigued by WR Crabtree as well- the dude is just a winner. I caught a little of his last game on TV- he just finds a way. In tems of the pure speed thing, it's a valid point , but I always go back to the same question- what did Jerry Rice run? Bottom line- William Moore.
-
I tell you as we sit here today I think Hakeem Nicks might be every bit as good as Michael Crabtree.
-
1) William Moore
2) Alex Mack
3) Hakeem Nicks/the guy from Penn State/the guy from UNC who popped his ACL.
Mack might be a luxury pick, I don't know. I'm still confused by the whole Quentin Moses/Charlie Washington/Matt Roth thing. Roth's coverage issues have been exposed, I just don't want to give up on Moses and Washington yet, although I think that Boomer makes good points about that whole mess. I still wonder why they don't try Torbor, with maybe Ayodele moved outside. They both can play outside I believe, but someone has to step up to the plate at OLB. I think that Washington got playing time- he should, however, get 10 lashes for that hold on the Ginn PR. Terrible.
p.s. There is an interesting big receiver from Cal-poly- you may have mentioned him in an earlier post. -
I would love to see William Moore as our rd1 pick personally, but I can't see us not taking a guy from the defensive front 7. With that said, William Moore in rd1 and Derrick Williams with one of or #2's would make me giddy.

6'6 and available in the 3rd or 4th.... Ginn improving is huge, but we still need help at WR. Wilford- I'm not sure about the cap situation, but he must have zero wheels and moves. Gotta like Bess, BTW. Crafty, and great hands.
Gator fans rave about Percy Harvin- one in particular, a close friend of mine and very knowledgable re: football, says firmly he's better than Ginn. Louis Murphy- I want to see more of him, not sure.
Since is 5:45 AM ET I'll say it again- William Moore. I'd rather take the sure thing at S and draft OLB later- but Stubbornly refuse to give up on the Roth/Moses/Washington trio. I think that Roth is getting yanked on obvious passing downs, but not sure about that. I'm pretty sure that Moses and Washington got PT.
To anyone out there- how did Andy Alleman play? Carey is picking a lousy (contract) year to be average, and Satele is still good/not great IMO. I'll keep rattling off the name Alex Mack for a while.
One name that doesn't confuse me at all- William Moore. But if the Pats draft before us, he's gone.
