***Red Sox Nation 2008 Thread***

Just actually bought Sox tickets for May 18th vs. the Brewers on stubhub! The tickets were pricey as hell but I figured it will probably be a good game to see. I'm also looking to get tickets to the July series vs. the Yankees and the June series vs. the Cards.

I think you need to take a step back and look at what point in your life did things take a turn for the worse and u became a Red Sox Fan.:confused2:

Before 2004 I questioned myself about being a Sox fan everyday.... but now it's not so bad.

So will you guys be here exclusively or will you still be visiting FH?

I'll probably be here until the new site is launched. I feel like the majority of the FH Sox fans are on this board now anyway so there's no need to keep posting at FH.

I'm glad to see you came aboard here, I enjoy talking Sox with you (and the rest of the Sox fans.... except In Flames..... he sucks and from what I hear has pink Red Sox hats and a pink Varitek jeresy).

I actually also got tickets to see the Angels play the Yankees at YS in August (sadly there are no Sox/Angel weekend games this year) but at least you'll be glad to know that I'll be rooting for the Halos that day (although I usually do when they're not playing the Sox).

Well it will be a little easier to beat them at least for the next 60 days as the Yanks placed Carl Pavano on the 60 day DL. IF he returns then I think Theo would have to make a deal with St. Louis to try and get Matt Clement and possibly Joel Pineiro back to even it up a bit.

Im suprised we can't get a better offer for Coco, he's still a good player with upside.

The problem is Coco hasn't hit at all in the 2 years he's been with the Sox and no team really needs a CFer. Plus I'm sure Theo isn't just going to give him away but it's hard to make a deal when guys like Kenny Lofton and up until 2 weeks ago Cory Patterson were still available for nothing.

Again Coco would be a great 4th OF with us but I worried he'll be a distraction like Payton was in 05 if he doesn't play.

Well coco already stated that if he doesn't win the starting job he wants out

no offense as a yankee fan coco sucks thats why there hasnt been any good offers for him, he hasnt hit since hes been with boston if he could hit and with his speed and defense he would be a great trading chip as it is now he is at best a fourth outfielder

I wouldn't say Coco sucks. His speed and glove alone make him somewhat valueble but you're right that because of his hitting the Sox are having a hard time finding a match. I wouldn't go as far as saying he's a 4th OFer because I think he could be a starter on a lot of MLB teams right now, however the team he's on right now he's not a good fit.

thats true he sucks to me because iam a yankee fan lol but you are right he could start for a team out there, but in order to get something good for him he has to show he can hit consistently

i think he is a prototypical NL guy he plays amazing defense he made some of the best catches in baseball over the last couple of years he just needs to improve offensively

Fellas I'm gassed that the regular season starts today i can't wait to see my sox's play even if it's in Japan.

Went to turn on the game this morning and my Direct TV feed wasn't working. I went on the computer to see the score and it was already 2-0 A's and Matsuzaka had 5 walks already. This is going to be a long year..... haha.

Yeah, and then in the top of the ninth, 4-3 As, Moss hits a home run (I think his first EVER) to tie it up and now Okajima is on the mound.

I'm just happy there is a sport worth watching back on TV again.. Even if I have to get up at 6am to watch it.
