He's smart enough to know that the team is going to pay him market value, but can't blow their cap in the process. I hate it when players talk this way. Being rich isn't enough, if he isn't the highest paid he's been disrespected. Can't stand the guy. :headwall:

I have no problem with this. Earn your money, young man!

Yes you are. Humility and class are important for everyone, along with some decorum.

If he wants respect he can sign an incentive based contract where he only gets a paycheck for games they win. I will respect him when expects to be paid only when he wins.

This is a molehill of epic proportions.

Sherman has a great physique though. I don't understand this one.ToddPhin, unluckyluciano, Bumrush and 2 others like this.

WHOA, take out of context much? Forget your medication that morning?
I've got no respect for people like yourself with agendas. How about the initial part of his quote and the question posed to him that he was responding to?
-
I disagree. For me, he's easy to like. He's taken Seattle's secondary and personified it, given it life, helped birth the intimidating "Legion of Boom" which now has a league-wide reputation. With Sherman, Thomas, and Chancellor locked up for a few years, their secondary has a chance to join past larger-than-life coined units like the Fearsome Foursome, Purple People Eaters, the Hogs, Killer B's, etc. He's just putting on a show.

The part that I quoted doesn't mesh with the part that you did. I took that to be what he meant in reality. The idea of money = respect is what rubs me he wrong way. Teams pay what they are forced to in order to keep veteran players.

Patrick Peterson taking jabs at Sherman;
Check out the images and tweets sent back and forth after Sherman heard the above quote here;

I actually agree with Peterson and there is nothing wrong with that from Sherman. If I plan to play a cover 3 he is the first corner I'd want. However he -is- a system corner IMO. Some guys just fit a system perfectly and he is that guy.
