That would be better than giving up a 2nd for Rosen. Jones doesn't seem to be in our long term plans and we have McDonald and minkah to be the 2 starting safeties.

That being said. We could still get a good player in the 4th. And if rosen turned out good. It would be perfect.

It's hard to get really excited about a guy who was, frankly, really bad. Best case is we turn him into Jared Goff 2.0. Worst case is we saw pretty well what he is last year and we give up a valuable pick for someone else's trash.

Im with you. there are too many immediate starters, really good players left to be had in the 2nd round. I would refuse a 2nd rounder

Does not work salary wise...you would have to give up 48 to get someone to take on his salary given your salary offset for Rosen is less than 3 mm.

I cannot believe it would be straight up for 48....Grier should be run out of town 30 seconds after the draft if that is the case. I doubt it is the case.

DaFishForum VeteranI would not be happy giving away a 2nd round pick unless we had an extra pick in said round. I was happy with our first pick, but I hope they do not blow a 2nd rounder.

my 2 centsForum VeteranHell if you gonna give up 48 and get nothing or a token back...keep 48 and roll with whatever QB is next on your list for the extra year under the rookie deal. Save yourself a couple mil difference between a QB @ 10 salary and a QB @ 48 salary...

Agree. I don't go higher than that. That pick might have likely been spent on a QB anyways. Rosen will still have a 5th-year option available if he balls out.

Round 2 - starting QB
Round 3 - starting RT
Round 3 - starting LG
Round 4 - starting RG
Try to trade back up into Round 4 for a starting Center
I would use rounds 3 & 4 to snatch up all 3 Wisconsin linemen...

Tin IndianForum VeteranI would rather stay the course and build the rest of the team and go for a qb next year. We already have Fitzpatrick to mind the store for a year or two. Unless you really think Rosen can be the guy, why do it?

I feel a 2nd for Rosen isn't too bad IF it is coupled with a 4th or 5th from the Cardinals.
In this draft an extra pick at 4th or 5th could mean getting another good player. That way we really limit any potential draft player loss to a marginally less well though of player and improve our QB situation. This kind of trade is always a good opportunity.
At this point playing favorites is useless. Take anyone you can get who will improve the team. Considering there is a new coaching staff in town, what constitutes a good team right now is entirely their opinion. Until we see how the product performs on the field we are not in a position to know what we have. We only know what we had and that doesn't transfer under these circumstances.
