Asante Samuel was cut today by the Falcons. His cap hit of $5 plus million is removed from their books here. He will be considered an unrestricted free agent (as opposed to a cut/release) so he won't be available to be bid on until free agency starts.
Stephen Nicholas was also released.

If anyone here's something official on Larry Fitzgerald's contract restructure, please post here... unofficially, he's going from an $18m cap figure to $7.8m... his 2014 base salary of $12.75m they are turning into a bonus/guaranteed money... that means the $12.75m is prorated over the remaining length of his contract (5 years), or $2.55m hit per year... so that's $18m less the $12.75m plus the $2.55m... or what should be an ending cap # of $7.8m....

i see... I'm still off by $200k from what he has (I recalculated to $8.564m... he must be taking the workout bonus for 2014 and deferring 4/5's of it to future years. That's where the difference is. hmm :shifty: does he make money off that website or is it more a hobby?

workout bonuses don't get deferred, he either omitted it on porpoise or accidentally, but usually in these cases they can that bonus too, or just can it and it to to the signing bonus.

Some more notes before I post the rosters on Monday night... I'm cross referencing a free agent list with the roster list I've got... Some duplicates and where I'm putting them... these are just the noteworthy ones... there are others... basically a bunch of ERFA's that I'm leaving as ERFA's... figure most of those you guys won't keep anyway, so just moving them off your roster to save you the trouble.

Charlie Johnson OL, contract voided, UFA, not with the Vikings
Dan Bailey K, signed extension with Cowboys, stays with Cowboys

Larry English not a free agent... Charger didn't meet playing time requirements to void his sixth year, so he will remain property of the Chargers. So far I've got his cap # at $1.54m, and that's probably what it will stay at.
