I think Kubiak is a very good coordinator. Not really afraid of the other two.

What happened to the Lasor interview?

Kubiak at best would be a short term hire. I don't think that's in the best long term interests of this team. Could be a Scott Linehan situation all over again where we end up with 3 OC's in 3 straight seasons because of one leaving to a better job.

I think a key component is that the Dolphins for the most part have identified they need to run more play action.
Tannehill had a QB rating of 106.9 this year on PA, and 76.6 without it. Last year he was 121.2 and 67.7, and the team these last two years have used not very much at all. -

I dunno....
Im kinda geeked about Kyle Shanahan. He seems like the kind of OC that could develop into one that can actually...you know...out coach the other team. -
we need to have a offense that puts up a great number of passing and we haven't had a 1000 receiver since I don't know when.
I agree about having a good oline so I hope we fix that area but our runingbacks are not very good so I would hope we could get a big time back.. -

Aqua = Revis Island? -
We almost had 2 wr break 1000 yds this season. That would've been the first miami duo to do it since the marks brothers.

Farmer at GM (based on the information and opinions that have come out) , Kubiak at OC. Sounds good to me

I'd be excited to see what he can do with a QB like Tannehill.Skyfire023 likes this. -
Watching his college career I don't see why anyone wanted him that early. -

Can anyone explain to me why Kyle Shanahan is an appealing candidate? Living in the D.C. metro area and watching a lot of Redskins games I can tell you the fans here hate him far worse than we hated Henning. Seems to me the only reason he had the OC job in Washington was because of his father. They were talking about making Mike fire him 2 seasons ago. Are we really thinking this guy has something because RGIII was a special player before he got hurt?
I'd rather we stuck with Sherman than Shanahan. I'd love Kubiak.mroz and MIASportsFan like this. -
He has had success in all of his stops as a coach.
Second, I feel RGIII is a TERRIBLE pro prospect at QB. His first year of success to me is a testament to Shannahan and his ability to maximize on his players best assets. Season two RGIII lost his best asset and was forced to play from the pocket, where he struggled terribly as I would expect. More of a case of being hand cuffed than being bad.
I'd guess most Washington fans don't want to admit that maybe RGIII just isn't that good.
My two cents. -

On Shanahan:
But Shanahan is the one the players will miss most.
One opposing defensive coach, who faced the Redskins within the past two seasons, called Shanahan an "above average coordinator" who could be outstanding with the right head coach. His flaws, according to this coach: managing the game and play calling in critical situations. Other complaints over the years: he threw the ball too often and sometimes got too cute with his play calls.
But the Redskins moved the ball under Shanahan. They finished among the top 10 in total yards in consecutive years for the first time since 1991, the last of six straight years in the top 10. The problem is that Washington went from fourth in points per game a year ago to 23 this season. The No. 4 ranking in points in 2012 marked the only time Washington has finished in the top 10 since 1999.
"I liked Kyle's work ethic, his attention to detail," tight end Logan Paulsen said. "You know how in chess you play someone who is really good and they can see a couple moves ahead. I always felt he could do that. ... One thing I remember is talking to [tight ends coach Sean McVay] and said, ‘Why don't we just run this?' He said, ‘It doesn't have answers if you get into a bad coverage.' But the thing about Kyle and his staff they worked very hard to make sure every play has an answer so you never in an awful look."
"It's well put together," quarterback Rex Grossman said. "When he gets in a rhythm he's the best in the NFL. You can feel it as a player and it allows you to have success. ... If you're not in the right look, you do have answers so you don't feel stuck, which is a good thing and it's hard to coordinate."
Fullback Darrel Young said, "I respect everything he did for me, this team and this offense. All the people that criticized him, we still had Alfred [Morris] as one of the top 10 rushers in the league."
But Shanahan did not earn the complete trust of quarterback Robert Griffin III. And there is this matter: The Redskins finished 24-40 under the Mike Shanahan regime. In a bottom line business, that's the number that jumps out.
"You don't have a good record and that starts with myself as much as anybody else," Kyle Shanahan said last week. "The ultimate goal is wins."

What makes him even a potential pro QB is his ability to keep defenses honest with his legs. It does open up a lot of passing lanes for him.
The problem is as we saw....when he can't use those legs....what does he bring to the table? The whole game changes.
I don't want him to fail or anything. For his sake I hope he proves me wrong. The league needs more exciting players under centerx and he certainly is just that at times.DPlus47 and MonstBlitz like this. -

I do like what I hear about Kyle...if he can look at the areas he needs to improve upon as an Offensive Coordinator.

Heres some more interesting things on Kyle Shanahan....
Some that could not be viewed as pluses...others I like.
"Kyle Shanahan remains on the offensive with Redskins...
Shanahan referred to LaFleur and McDaniel, who both coached with him in Houston. McVay hadn’t coached with Shanahan before joining Washington as an offensive assistant in 2010. He became tight ends coach in 2011.
“When I hear people talking about them and they’re not good and they’re inept, that really offends me. . . . Those guys, in my opinion are as good as a staff I’ve been around,” Shanahan continued. “These two years, we have moved the ball better than any offense in the history of this 80-year organization. That’s something to be proud of. . . .
“If people want to really know how good these guys are, ask the players at their position. Ask the tight ends for Sean, ask the quarterbacks for Matt, ask the receivers for Mike McDaniel, and then you’ll get an honest opinion, not one from some bitter guy who’s bitter about everything and just wants to hate on people.”
Redskins players have come to Shanahan’s defense throughout the season. Early in the season, when the offense repeatedly got off to slow starts, players blamed themselves and said that Shanahan’s play-calling wasn’t to blame.
Later in the year, the Redskins solved the first-half struggles, but then failed to close out opponents. Shanahan again came under scrutiny, and questions arose about the balance of his play-calling. But his players again insisted that the offensive coordinator had put them in position to succeed.
The conflicts between Griffin and both Shanahans, and Mike Shanahan’s perceived rift with Snyder, have further fueled speculation thatthe situation is beyond repair.
But linebacker London Fletcher on Wednesday endorsed Mike Shanahan and said that Snyder should weather the storm and give the head coach an extension."

Hell, learning from Philbin could be just what Kyle needs to take him over the top as one of the league's better OC's. Can you imagine him after learning Green Bay's system but with all of his innovative design and improved ground game & screen game incorporated in? The thought of it makes me drool TBH.
Those Skins fans who wanted him fired should probably drop the coin on NFL Rewind and check out Miami's offense the past 4 years for proper perspective.
