He is easily the best candidate available… and he is definitely not the reason the Bills lost last playoff game.. that was mostly Allen.. call him… interview him

Hes likely the front runner for pittsburgh or baltimore job.. but we got to get in and try

With that said, espn has started the rumor train. Theyre saying the Bills will go after Belichick
-
OMG Yes please please do that, Buffalo.

Not interested.

McDermott's first year in Buffalo in 2017, he went 9-7 with Tyrod Taylor as his quarterback and made the playoffs. The Bills drafted Allen in 2018 and the rest is history.
Could McDermott make the Dolphins relevant again? Sure he could but would the Dolphins end up being the same as the Bills...ALMOST but never quite enough?
I'd bring him in for an interview. If nothing else ask him, why were you never able to get over the hump and see how he responds. -
Love it from a different angle: this will be another great experiment showing the effect of QB vs HC. Belichick lost that battle with Brady — average win% without Brady while Brady wins a SB without Belichick. Let's see what happens with Allen and McDermott.

Oh man him taking Lamar to the Super Bowl would be pretty funny.
If he wants a ready made contender, that's the team. But I think any team with an opening should line up to throw money at him. -
The odds are that Buffalo will end up with a lesser coach, so good for Miami. I'd take McDermott over YET ANOTHER guy new to being a head coach, but he'd fit well with the Ravens or Steelers.

I'll say he doesn't seem to cost his teams wins. So that's a bonus. The Bears coach from the last two weeks comes to mind as the opposite. Riverboat gambling with possessions, failing to take points when available in a playoff game is a cardinal sin.
