Miami Dolphins Final Roster
Overview:
Well, this was interesting.... I came into this offseason thinking that the Dolphins needed to upgrade quarterback, sprinkle in some complimentary players on defense to upgrade the rush and a playmaker or two on offense to surround the new quarterback.
Of course that whole plan got blowed up (thanks Emmitt) when I made THE TRADE OF THE CENTURY with the Houston Texans.
It wasn't my intention to make this trade but as the league was "slow" we (Todd and myself) thought it was time to spice it up a little.
Of course I think we each woke up the morning after thinking we'd done something we'd regretted.
Sort of like a girl waking up after prom night. :lmao:
Gone were Jake Long, Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, Mike Pouncey, Charles Clay and Jimmy Wilson.
Added were:
DE JJ Watt $912,000
DE Antonio Smith $5,500,000
DT Shaun Cody $2,250,000
OLB Brooks Reed $465,000
ILB DeMeco Ryans $5,900,000
OLB Connor Barwin $565,000
CB Kareem Jackson $700,000
CB Jonathan Joseph $5,437,500
FS Danieal Manning $4,000,000
SS Glover Quin
$565,000
Yes, the whole starting Texans defense except for Brian "man ****" Cushing.
I had obviously upgraded the defense.
But now had to start completely over on offense.
So I ended up trading up to the #1 overall spot and acquired the best quarterback to come out since Peyton Manning, ANDREW LUCK.
Trading for one of the most dynamic runners in the league in Jamaal Charles.
Implementing a new trio of receivers in Anquan Boldin, Danny Amendola and Robert Meachem (you can't find three receivers more different in this league).
Drafting Dwayne Allen to add to Jeremy Shockey, Daniel Fells and DJ Williams at the tight end position.
And revamping the oline with free agent acquisitions Carl Nicks, Levi Brown, Jared Gaither and Will Montgomery.
What type of offense?
I would envision an offense similar to what Luck ran in Stanford.
Pro style, but capable of running many different types of formations.
A balanced attack, but again capable of going three or four wide, or multiple tight ends.
Balance, power, speed, domination.
What type of defense?
Will we run a 34 or 43?
It's going to be a multiple hybrid.
Not necessarily one formation over the other.
So many teams are doing this these days anyway.
If you're going to be in nickel/dime 45% of the time in today's NFL, you can't put too much emphasis on one defensive front over the other.
Got to be able to do both.
Limit the substitutions so that the offense can't get any advantage in their hurry up optional attacks.
So I'll list in my depth chart both 43 and 34 fronts.
