Good read. Helped me fill in a few blanks. I'm really optimistic that Gase will do a much better job of using the players we have than anyone in the last decade.

Hard to compare with the Bears WR being injured alot this year. I would like to see the TE used like they did especially the first of the year. I am not sure tho that they used the TE more because of the injuries at WR or actual game planning.

I'm glad someone else commented on the horrible route combinations in the previous offense. This is something I have cited when people continue to criticize Ryan Tannehill. The route combos did not give him very much of a chance at success.

The more I think about it, the more I love it. Adam Gase will do something Bill Lazor did not or could not do. He will find a way to create space on the field with his route combos for his play makers.
Jarvis Landry's numbers are about to jump up. Not on a total receptions basis, but on a per reception basis. He is already one of the best YAC receivers in football, and now that he is in a system that will create space for him and vary his routes more, I have a feeling his 10 YPC stat is about to take a big jump. It will not surprise me to see Miami's top 3 receivers average over 16 yards per reception in 2016.eltos_lightfoot, adamprez2003, Rocky Raccoon and 3 others like this. -

Maybe he can, maybe not. I gotta see to believe, but yes it's definitely possible. -

I was reading an article recently, from like four years ago, about Tannehill (don't ask me where, it was buried in threads on here, I found while looking for something else), and they were talking about what a great job he was doing at identifying blitzes, and changing stuff at the line. Goes right along with what Lazor said last year, or season before, about Tannehill being as good as anyone he's worked with at identifying presnap and making the right choice.

One thing worth noting though is Gase's approach is perfectly suited to ramping up the complexity of the offense based on what the QB can actually handle. It'll be a good test of how football smart Tannehill really is (or better: can be, because I maintain he's made a lot of stupid decisions in the past).resnor likes this. -
I believe that article was talking about game situations.

I'd be curious to see how many times Ryan went to the line, read the coverage, and realized that no one in the route combo would be open while not having the permission to change the play at the line.

Interesting. Ben McAdoo is being hired by the Giants as their head coach. His choice for offensive coordinator? Joe Philbin.
Makes me really wonder why he did not take the job in Miami in 2014.
Interestingly enough, McAdoo's resume is not that different than Adam Gase's. Gase has one more year as a coordinator on his resume. Where Gase was a gopher for Nick Saban in college, Ben was an assistant coach at a high school. McAdoo is also one year older.Steve-Mo likes this. -

Didn't Forte have a hell of a year last year and was Gase OC then? If so the future is bright for Miller if they keep him.
