It's nice to see that Booker will not be grounded for the start of next season. What a bunch of boobs we had running the show last year.

Great read, man its getting me pumped up, and I like this guy already, He likes my son David. I believe you guys will see he will suprise at TE.

Nice article, thanks for the link. Interesting comments about liking our players at CB and TE, sounds like pure smokescreen to me. JMHO

thats a great article. thanks for sharing. Its about time we heard something from our organization about the current state of the team/roster. personally... this was my favorite part...

Anyone notice how after all this time Sparano finally comes out and does not only makes a statement about the team but spills his freakin' guts. There is a reason for this everyone. They are putting 31 other GM's on their ear.
A small mob of media gather around Sparano and Parcells grins.
This was planned. -
I can see your point regarding some of the other positions and players mentioned in the article. But if your point was directed at me referencing the part about Ginn and Booker... I dont buy it one bit. But in general about the rest of the roster, yeah your point is well taken regarding some of the players mentioned.
However that still doesnt change the fact that its finally nice to hear someone in this organization make some comments about some of the guys on our roster.ATVZ400 likes this. -
The running back position is not set IMO. They make it sound that way but it is not. They could very well be in the market for a rb in this draft.
It is nice to see talk about the roster from the team though even if it has an agenda. -
I just hope he gets the young guys involved. Why did Ran/Cam even draft Ginn and Booker? To be a playmaker? Its hard to make a play sitting on the bench ....
Im liking sparano. I think in todays NFL, indeed ANY professional sport, the key to being the head coach is player relationships. Cam was an X-O guy and really good at that, but he totally and utterly lost his team. Thats why we went 1-15. Tony seems to be in charge of the situation, evaluating people and putting them in the best position to succeed and make plays. Thats how we will get good players on the team, and thats how you start putting the Ls in the W column. -
With as bad as our roster was, the evaluation probabally was over in seconds.

"At tight end, Sparano said, ''I really like David Martin -- he's a big, athletic player. "
I suppose he's not wrong with this statement, but he forgot to mention the inconsistent hands, poor attempts at blocking, his problems getting separation, and he gets injured a lot when he hits the ground. The only good thing I saw from him was his ability to find the openings against zone defenses. Nevertheless, an upgrade at TE would certainly not be unreasonable. -
I watched Sparano's press conference last night on miamidolphins.com, there were a few questions I would have liked to have seen answered:
Is Vernon Carey better suited for Left or Right Tackle?
Of the players we've acquired this offseason via trade or free agency, which one are you most excited to see when the pads come on?
You said before that you make the system fit the players, not the players fit the system. When training camp rolls around, is it possible that you go into it with one system in mind but yet change the system as training camp progresses? -
What he said about David Martin is true, the problem is, as you point out, he cannot block to save his Qb's life.
If he sticks, he could get Beck or McCown killed. -

Back on topic. It is hard to say if this is real or smoke, but if real I like his enthusiasm for this team. If we can get Lo Book more touches and increase Ginn's role then we will have some firepower on Offense, especially with RB and RW back there too. Wilford could be a good steadying influence too.
