“You better start supporting your young quarterback,” Mike Mayock said of the Dolphins on an NFL Network conference call this week. “And the best way to do it is either at wideout or offensive line. The o-line options are going to be a heck of a lot safer than the receiver options at 12.”
But Missouri’s 295-pound Sheldon Richardson is more of a Randy Starks type and would be in the mix for Miami if Starks leaves. So would UF’s 303-pound Shariff Floyd, who is “skyrocketing and scheme versatile,” Kiper said. But Mayock believes Floyd is now a top-five pick.
Linebackers: Georgia’s Alec Ogletree is rated eighth by Kiper but had a drug suspension last season and a recent DUI arrest. And Mayock says Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o should go around 20th. And both are best at middle linebacker, which isn’t a Dolphins need because of Karlos Dansby.

The shame of that is it would be unpopular in the extreme, but Lane Johnson is a really, really, really good player IMO.

I'd still like to see them take a look at Goodwin and Rogers/Wilson despite the off field issues. I came across another interesting but legally challenged WR, Darryl Stonum. Maybe worth a 7th rd pick but someone I'd consider in FA for sure if he's over his issues and not a bad kid. Size, speed and an accomplished KR. -
Like hearing exciting things about my two favorite defensive players in the draft, Dion Jordan is gonna be special..
Love the quote about Sheldon, he plays like a 250 lb linebacker." -
Mayock, has it backwards, that is old thinking a bit.
Your Qb is supposed to make those around him..better...that is the value in the position
I do expect Ireland to take a Tackle, I think he is such a balless wonder that it will seem like a logical move when reality is, you need playmakers, they are found normally in the upper portions of the draft, we never take them, thus we have none and expect the trend to continue.
Unless Ireland can break out of the Parcellian approach, we will be a .500 team, and that is assuming we keep most of the FA's, which we probably won't.Bpk likes this. -

Problem is, if he runs that fast, he won't last. -
I KNOW what Coyle has said about Odrick only being an end, but hey guess what.......coaches lie!
I know! It hurts doesn't it!
If they think a 30 year old Randy Starks is wearing down and don't want to give him the seven million a year he's asking then you kick Odrick inside next to Soliai and you take Richardson and play him right end. Not only does it give you a stallion at end, he and Odrick are interchangeable and that is a nice option to have!! -
I'd also like to see them keep McDaniel tbh, imo he is good depth, can start at either DT or DE. -
I just don't know if he'll actually succeed there, based on what I saw of him there in 2012.
But it can't be worse or more pointless than what we've seen from him at End. We could get the same level of play from Derrick Shelby or Olivier Vernon, very nearly. -

Sheldon Richardson-Dion Jordan-Tyler Eifert-Cordarrelle Patterson-Lane Johnson in that order

The annual "I'm not working out at the NFL Combine" parade as begun. Keenan Allen and Barkley are the first two I've seen mentioned.
If guys have legit injuries issues I am cool with that. But, if as some evaluators have intimated these guys are creating BS excuses just to opt out, then I think they should just remove those guys who are doing that and add others who were originally left off the list and willing to participate.Bpk likes this. -
Allen is really struggling with injury. His is legit. I think Barkley's shoulder is legit too.

Tackle is deep this year I'd be pretty upset if we went tackle at 12.

Last year's draft was by no means considered deep. Where did you get that impression?
