Good signs on our Rooks..Like what they had to say about Vern, Lamar, Egnew, expected some issues with Jon Martin, so that wasn't surprising to hear, really like hearing about those core players Odrick, Jimmy, Charlie, Roberto, Rj, their all so young, along with the rest of our core, VD, SS, Paul, Cam, Karlos, Jake, Pounce, Randy, CC, Reggie..I think we have a solid team, that needs one more free agency and draft to aquire a couple stars..I believe we will get solid Qb play so I think we'll have a solid season.

Is it just me, or are there a lot more puff pieces this season?

I fully expect Jared Odrick and Jimmy Wilson to make huge strides this season. In Odricks case I believe he can be an upper echelon DL. He is the player who will benefit mostly from the scheme change.

I had us letting Langford walk this offseason, I thought and think we have upgraded the starting left defensive end position..

Jimmy Wilson seemed to get a lot of talk this offseason..kid is built like a little tank, and does have very good instincts..I really want to see if Rj's hype is for real.

I'm interested to see what Jimmy Wilson and Reshad Jones can do as the starting safeties. They can either be a complete disaster or they can thrive and solidify the position for a few years.

man if roberto wallace can show more of this when the pads come on, that would be huge

I think the safety spots would be Jones' and Clemons' to lose. I like Tyrone Culver more as the 3rd safety than Jimmy Wilson. Seemingly everyone's pegged Culver to get cut at one point or another, but he's been pretty dependable when called upon and is a good special teams player. I think Jimmy Wilson playing both S and CB is good, as he's depth at either, but I wasn't as impressed with him as most others seem to be last year. Good special teamer, average defensive player IMO. He's got some instincts yes, but I'm not sure if he's got the skillset to pair with those instincts to make him a capable contributor. What is he, a CB or a S? I will say that Cincinnati had a few guys like this playing under Coyle including Tom Nelson, Corey Lynch, and Rico Murray. Most of them found a home on special teams one way or another.

I liked reading that about Roberto Wallace. Someone has to emerge as a go to player and he has the prototype frame so it may as well be him. Hopefully he has what it takes to be another Miles Austin type that Ireland pulled off the scrapheap and let develop for a few years.

I thought Simms comments at the end about Tannehill were telling as well. He did make a lot of pro throws in college and he seemed very high on Tannenhill. You always want a QB with pocket presence and Simms said his was very good. Hopefully Philbin can develop this kid so he can perform at a Rodgers-like level. Thats be sweet :yes:

I always had Jimmy being a safety, thought it was a mistake last year to move him to corner..He just moves like a safety, he'll come up and pop you in the mouth, has some instincts that I would like to see develope, and some good athletic ability..I think he beats out Culver.

I've got really high hopes for Charles Clay. If he plays up to his upside from his rookie season, he could be a really good player.

There's just so much they can do with him. I'm personally hoping a lot of what the Packers have done with FB/H-Backs leaks into Sherman's offense.

It's only July but I think the new "media friendly" policies have something to do with it.

Don't worry, the always ultra-positive South Florida media will start to shred the team soon enough.

This is massive progress for Wallace...... knowing what and where the sideline is. He possesses the natural talent and potential to make a lot of Dolphin WR bashers eat a large pile of their criticism IMHO.

Just a thought but having Marshall gone might provide Roberto a burst of umph & hope to become Miami's new top dog at receiver rather than knowing all his efforts would still leave him in Brandon's shadow.

I haven't criticized him that much, just that I thought that his hands aren't that good..which is not the criticism you want to be associated with when your a receiver..

Not to diminish your point (which I agree with), but I was more thinking in terms of all the bashing Miami, specifically a Marshall-less WR corps, has received this offseason from the football world in general (fans, media, and so-called experts included). Wouldn't it be a hoot if Wallace turned into an 800+ yard, 8 TD receiver this year, which, combined with the overall progression of the rest of our WR/TE group, happens to actually make us better than we were with Marshall? Crazier things have happened in football, no?

absolutely, I want so bad from a team perspective to show the ignorant media how much they completely sensationalized certain subjects about the team...The local media as well, for they are the ones that were sh&$ing on every move we made this offseason and giving the national media their fuel..I blame a lot of how we are perceived by the amateurs surrounding our franchise.
