I think it's safe to say that Ryan Tannehill would be the first Qb taken in the draft this year..which s pretty cool.
Impressive accuracy, trajectory, release, footwork..just thought it would be fun to look back.

He would, but even in hindsight I'd probably draft Ryan Leaf again at his current age before any of these QB's. I don't see a single starter let alone a franchise QB.

Geno Smith could be another RGIII/Colin Koepernick is he lands in the right situation. Probably more Koepernick, because he had to sit for a year.

Just my opinion of course. I just don't think he has many viable NFL skills, and he looked scary idiotic in his QB meeting thing with...not Gruden...I forget who it was exactly on ESPN but Geno couldn't even remember the terminology of one WCO offense play that I memorized extremely easily in the same time span he had....and this is his career not mine. -

I could see Matt Barkley working out in Buffalo. I mean, work out as much as a QB for the Buffalo Bills could work out.

I'm not sure if you saw it or not or if anyone else did....but it was way beyond just "Well its a difficult system and terminology".
None of the terminology of the play was tough by the way...I don't remember what it was (this was like...2 months ago) but it was something easy like "Banana split right strong, boot left waggle (route tree numbers) " -

Not to say I'm right....Ive never met him. Maybe he has the stuff to be a stud. I just don't personally see it. Though I could see him doing pretty well in Arizona as you said. -

I think Barkley could be a pretty good NFL qb interested to see where he gets drafted

BTW Marino had a mediocre senior year too .....just saying.RevRick likes this. -
Then you move onto the front seven and teach him how to read and call adjustments with the same incremental steps. Finally you tie that all together into one comprehensive knowledge base. It shouldn't take more than a year unless he's dimmer than a blown out light bulb. -
Even if you have the patience for that as a team you have to REALLY believe in his ceiling which I don't. Also you're talking about a guy who seems to have absolutely no idea how to read coverages. To be fair most rookie QB's don't understand complex defenses yet, but Geno will basically know nothing and I don't believe you can truly improve that skill without game experience to back up the teaching. You don't just watch tape and suddenly know how to read a defense. It's easy on tape but ridiculously hard on field level. Not to mention the speed of the game. -
I heard Gil Brandt say on NFL Radio this week that if Tannehill was in this draft, he'd be the #1 overall pick.

Barkley is a SoCal guy and I wonder how he would adjust to the Buffalo weather. Just something to consider. There were a lot of hopes for Sanchez coming out but he didn't adjust well to the cold weather. Barkley will likely be better than Sanchez but it would still give me pause.

I personally think that the caution many have with Tannehill has more to do with our past QB woes and less to do with Tannehill's play last year, so they find things to justify their justifiable fear.
I really believe many fans simply don't think its possible we could have a great QB again, because its taken so long.
