its pretty clear to see why this guy fell out of the 1st round. its only a matter of time before he loses his spot to Murtha. Martin will get Tannehill killed this season.

Rookie learning a new position struggling against a vet with 20.5 sacks the last two seasons. Color me shocked.
He may bust, but this isn't nearly enough to write the book on him.
Once upon a time Jake Long got schooled for 2 sacks in a quarter by John Abraham. -
Charles Johnson is one of the best in the game. He abused Martin. Luckily Martin doesn't have to see Johnson the rest of the year. Martin will get better, but he is going to take some work.

Yes. It is impossible to get better. He should just retire now. He does have a degree from Stanford afterall.

Martin looked bad. Very bad. He was beaten consistently from the inside, the outside, the bull rush. I'll have to watch the game again to get a better look at him, but I do not feel good about that RT spot. I am fairly concerned, actually.
-
Yea no reason to be optimistic about Martin at all....
-
Even though this game he is making Marc Columbo look like Willie Roaf, before we write the kid off as a bust, pretty much anyone that suited up and stepped on this field tonight should get the same critique. Terrible effort all around.

You trolls are a riot. It's the 2nd preseason game for goodness sake. I hear Andrew Luck survived Martin's weak play.

Martin's been a problem, but at least you can come up with some legitimate reasons for his struggles.
The rest of the team? Not so much. -
I hope you guys are right, and Martin turns it around. He obviously is a guy with some ability. However, I did expect him to play better than he did.
He was especially bad. -
he has gotten beat by EVERYBODy that has lined up against him. He can't block the 3rd stringers.
-
Guy couldn't block a fire hydrant.

If Martin were a Parental Filter, Kids would become experts in excremental porn.

The Dolphins once again go into the season with no effective RT on the team. Who's fault is that? One guess.
-
If you lined Jonathan Martin accross from a man in a coma, Martin would get beat 3 out of 4 times.

Cousin Vinny is on HBO, enjoy the game fellas I'm out.

Well, that'd definitely be more entertaining than watching some of the youtes we got out here struggling. -

Two weeks in a row he's looked pretty bad. It was a bad pick any way you slice it.

He made about every kind of mistake possible for a OL. False starts, holding, flat out wiffing on run blocks and pass blocks at times. He got bull rushed, speed rushed, and seemed incapable of handling much of anything yet. I'm not ready to completely give up on him long term of course, but he sure hasn't shown he deserved to be basically handed the starting job on a silver platter.
We need to get our line ready for the season. At this point with him not only showing no improvement since last week, but getting worse, we need to make a change at starting RT before game 3. Whether it's Murtha, Garner, Jerry, or moving Hicks outside.
Maybe being a backup for a while would take some of the pressure off him, and allow the game to slow down for him a little.ToddPhin likes this. -
JMart should have progressed, he sucked, let us not sugar coat this. -
He has been horse**** though..where oh where are those draftniks now though?
