Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Carradine ran a 4.75-second 40-yard dash at a workout for NFL scouts today. That’s a good time for a defensive end in any context, but it’s particularly good for a player who had reconstructive knee surgery 135 days ago.

Florida St DE Tank Carradine, 135 days post-ACL surgery after 11 sack yr, had good private workout for teams: 4.75-4.85 in 40 at 273 lbs
I don't really care for his, or Werner's games. -
How can I put this, guys I consider elite types or could be elite, have a certain body tilt when they are getting after the passer, it's like their weight/momentum is moving forward but they retain excellent balance.
Tank and Werner remind me of Matt Roth, without that sort of psychotic intensity.
FWIW, this is why imo, Odie will never be a great passrusher, don't care how much weight he losses. -

And I'm not saying bend the arc, DT's have it as well, it looks like their upper body is tilted forward, at full speed, and the blocker just sort of falls off of them. It's like the OL is more or less bent, but straight up and down (to keep their balance) and the upper torso of the passrusher just bursts them off of them. -

I understand, one of the best is James Harrison at that, he does not run the arc, at least not like Wake, but always places them off balance. I feel like I see that in Caradine's game. He seems to get whoever is blocking him just off balance enough, run or pass plays to get past the blocker. Ill have to watch more of him. I'd love for him to drop but I just can't see it. If we traded back I'd take him for sure. I'm still very tempted to at 12. We need more pass rushers on this team. -
Despite the idea that Ireland is suddenly becoming this revolutionary GM, I think he continues to show considerable caution with injured players. They just don't generally appear on his board early on.
As annoying as we may find it, it might simply mean that Jarvis Jones, Tank Carradine, and even Dee Milliner are just not in the plans. -
Someone said his official time was 4.9- Can anyone confirm this?
What I like about Tank is he keeps his head up and aware of what is happening. He is good with his hands and knows how to play leverage. He isn't heavy footed but he isn't explosive. He wont beat guys off the snap on speed alone like Jordan but he is going to be a solid DE. Him and Wake would terrorize on the line.Bpk likes this. -

If Odrick was faster/quicker then yes you could possibly draw that comparison but Tank will be much more involved in the pass rush. Odrick just isn't quick enough to play end in the NFL. I'd like him more inside but was't Vernon more efficient inside than Odrick during the year.
Maybe we could trade Odrick to a team that needs a 3-4 end? -
Personally I'd be happy to trade Odrick straight up for Glenn Dorsey. Two players who have been played out of position and not been put in a position to succeed by their teams.Da 'Fins and BuckeyeKing like this. -

Never have liked Carradine that much as a 1st rounder (nor Werner) but do like him a lot as an early 2nd.
Every one of the DEs in this draft have question marks - either in burst, athleticism or production. I am sure 1-2 will emerge but I really don't want one in the early 1st. Dion Jordan, perhaps, but don't think he'll fall and he has questions as well.
I may be totally wrong but this draft - as others have indicated - does seem to hold good value between 15 and 60 and it is hard to differentiate a lot of that talent. Which is why I'd prefer to trade back in round 1 and pick up an extra 2nd/3rd. Would Really want to if we traded away a 2nd for Albert. -

Obviously 11 teams felt they could learn from being there...
That doesn't mean we WON'T draft him. But the more interest they show in him, the more likely it is that they'll draft him IMO. -
I'm just baffled by some of what I'm reading here, including a comparison of Carradine to... Jared Odrick? I like Odrick, he's a tough run stuffing DE, but he can't touch the lighter Carradine as per pass rush, 1st step, speed, quicks, all of it as per speed rush.

I think that he would be a slam dunk pick at #12 if not for the recent ACL injury, and it looks as if he'll still go in the 1st round despite it. He's a heck of a player and would be a nearly perfect fit for us at a need position imo, knee injury aside.Limbo, FinNasty, Bpk and 1 other person like this. -
