This is a good thing, I hope. If he is healthy he's at least an upgrade and this is coming from someone who wanted to see Osweiler play.
I do think that if by the end of the season he isnt clearly better than what we saw with Osweiler, a move has to be made.resnor likes this. -
Tannehill > Osweiler no question. The bigger question is can Tannehill lead this team to a playoff berth. We're 5-5 tied record-wise for the last WC spot so no excuses. No repeat of that total flop at the end of 2013 where we only needed to beat the Jets or Bills to make the playoffs and Tannehill crapped the bed.
This is really a great test for both QB and coach. I hope I'm wrong about both and we make the playoffs 2 out of last 3 years!Last edited: Nov 20, 2018 -

We get Tannehill back, so that means"no excuses"? I don't understand this mentality. Are we getting three starters back on the oline? Are we getting Grant and Wilson back?
Yes, I expect the offense to be more productive with Tannehill than Osweiler, but I'm not necessarily expecting that to translate into wins.danmarino, The_Dark_Knight and Surfs Up 99 like this. -

LOL
If you're free to continue to say "No excuses," I think I'm free to disagree.
If our team plane crashed and we lost all our starters, would you still insist that there are "no excuses" and we should clean house if we don't make the playoffs? I mean, it's a pretty unreasonable stance, imo.danmarino likes this. -

Basically the way I see it, Tannehill is in a no lose position. As banged up as we are you can't blame him if we miss the playoffs but if we get into the playoffs he'll get all the credit

That's been pretty much how a lot of people have felt for 7 years.
You do not have to have the football aptitude of Bill Walsh to watch a game and be able to somewhat tell if the QB plays well or if he doesn't.bigballa2102, texanphinatic and mlb1399 like this. -
Some host on the NFL network just commented that Tannehills back for the Colts "cough cough" they lose by 20.. No respect i tell ya!

Unless I missed it, I feel the need to point that according to the thread title, Tanny has been named the starter for the Colts! Does that mean we get Luck?

Really going to miss Wilson. Hope Jakeem is healthier. I think I read somewhere that Parker is, per usual, injured.
Luck is starting to game a little. He’s quietly been playing lights out the past several games.
Going to be a tough one.Surfs Up 99 and KeyFin like this. -

This is a very VERY astute statement that everyone needs to keep in mind. Everyone seems to forget that football is the purest of team sports insomuch that ALL 11 players have to execute in order for the unit to succeed...and the foundation for any offense is the OL. We've been down 3 starters on the line and even with the return of Tannehill, he alone won't make up for the loss of those starters.
Hopefully with James and Tunsil back in practice, we can expect to get 2 more of our starters back on the line and get this offense firing on all cylinders again.resnor likes this. -
"I can't walk because I'm paralyzed" Is that an excuse or is that a reason? Being without your starting QB, 3 of your starting OL, 2 of your starting DL, 2 of your most dramatic playmakers (Grant Wilson), starting TE, and a few other rotation guys is NOT an excuse.
Packers: 4-5-1
Vikes: 5-4-1
Seattle: 5-5
Falcons: 4-6
Indy: 5-5
Jax: 3-7
Raiders: 2-8
Eagles: 4-6
Every single one of these teams have either won Super Bowls recently, been in the Super Bowl recently, been in the playoffs recently, have QB's that Dolphin's fans of coveted or HC's that Dolphin's fans have coveted. None of them have suffered the amount of injuries the Dolphins have and all of them have records equal to or worse than the Dolphins.
My point in this is that it's more than just Gase and the QB. There are bigger reasons as to why this team in 5-5. Unless you also think that Rodgers and/or McCarthy is the problem? Or maybe it's Wilson and/or Carrol? Or Matt Ryan and/or Quinn? Etc etc...Puka-head, aesop, resnor and 1 other person like this. -

this is a great indicator actually!!! i seen it at 8.5 on Monday but i think it opened at 9.5 and its 8 right now, this team is not much better no matter the QB on the roster. 1 point is an easy shift which could be people taking miami, i remember one year when jamal charles was hurt and was questionable then he wound up being inactive on Sunday morning for the chiefs and the line sky rocketed like 5 points, that tells you the impact of 1 player. in all honesty i love the phins +8 but this is why i dont bet on Miami too biased!!mbsinmisc likes this. -
