These are common, but why are they pet peeves of yours? Do you honestly expect everyone to communicate in perfect grammar?
As long as you can understand what they are trying to say, I don't see the problem.
I could care less.

my favorite:
who gives a ****/ no one cares: Why they mean the same thing for instances of grammar correction it should be who gives a ****? For all other instances feel free to use no one cares.GISH likes this. -
I blame people for not realizing that language is alive and always changing. People do not live in english class.

The language is important because, now more than ever, communication is VITAL.
It's important to communicate clearly more than ever because we "speak" most often now through electronic media, where voice inflection and body language are lost.
In order to communicate effectively we need language; and in order for language to work as it should, it needs to remain universally constant.
Genuine ignorance is a shame and we should work to eliminate it; the real shame is that a country with the resources of the United States is far outpaced by a country like Cuba in terms of literacy.
But willful ignorance (or willful misuse) shows a laziness and a stupidity that is beyond comprehension in an age in which the entire knowledge of the world literally is at the fingertips of everyone with internet access.dolfan7171, late again, Frumundah Finnatic and 2 others like this. -
I always said that "irony" is the most misused word. People use it in place of "coincidence" all the time without knowing the actual meaning of the word.

Tecnically, "alright" is a word. It's an adverb and is in the dictionary. "All right", is the more formal useage.

I also hate when I hear people say they want to AXE a question. It's ASK. I always get my mother-in-law on that one.
And people use the word "that" too much. You could delete it from most sentences. -
