The debate is over. The argument is over. We have our QB and coach. NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOUR CONTRARIAN BULL****.
FINS UP. FINS THE EFF UP. MERRY CHRISTMAS. DECEMBER COLLAPSE THESE NUTS.

Good *** win. I personally don't care what the doubters think anymore. Their only rebuttal can be that we had to kick field goals to win and that a better quarterback would have thrown nine touchdowns blind folded blah blah blah. Good win! My heartbeat has finally returned to it's normal state.

No reason to respect them, at least not on a Dolphins board.Csonka Marino, danmarino and firedan like this. -

What a great game from him. 5 FGs is one thing, but 3 in a row from 50+? Im both surprised and impressed. A franchise records too. Good job Jason. Glad to see it. I hope this is s turning point for him and his confidence. I dont need him to be the best kicker in the league, just be reliable and consistent. But this week was one of the best for any kicker in the league!resnor, JJ_79, danmarino and 1 other person like this. -

I picked a carton of milk from the supermarket today and saw pictures of StaleTacos and Destroyer on the back.

The Sanders field goals were so big for us. I knew he still had it in him. I bet that last kick was the hardest one for him to make. What a pro that guy is. He was a stone-cold killer today for us. Kickers don't get the love they deserve. You've got to have nerves of steel to do that job.

Yeah I was completely wrong on Sanders. It looked like he just didn't have it anymore these last two seasons, but he has shut me up and made everything better again. I remember about 4 years ago when he was out best offensive player on the roster haha.

Good game by Tua, we finally beat a Team with a winning record, and we are in the playoffs, can't complain. I had us losing this game so I'll admit I was wrong. It was close and we probably would have lost if they had not fumbled at the goaline, but we got it done.
This still doesn't change my overall opinion though, these two teams are at about the same level, and Dak and Tua are about the same level of QB. Good but not great.dolphin25 likes this. -

Anyway you've been completely discredited on Tua.danmarino, Dolphins Undefeated and djphinfan like this. -

And Tua > Dak. Cowboys are likely never winning the SB because they got Dak wrong. That's a sentiment shared by so many Cowboys fans, including the ones I was with yesterday during the game (in Dallas right now).danmarino likes this. -
He’s still wrong though, Tua is going to be if he is not already an elite QB. He just keeps improving and as McDaniel said the other day in a press conference not only does he get better but he gets better quickly at the things he works on. -

We had a lot of things break our way to win this game, it could have gone either way.Last edited: Dec 25, 2023resnor likes this. -

I just don’t think that will be enough when things get tough in the playoffs and against the better teams, your QB is sometimes going to have to take over and make plays on his own to show he is truly great.
That's why I think San Fran will ultimately fall short also. -

Bigger question is what, if anything, would ever get you the point where you accept you were nearly completely wrong about Tua. You've asked Tua to perform well in all kinds of situations: without a good OL, without Hill, in the cold away from home, "carry" the team when others aren't playing well, play a full season without injury, against a top pass defense, against a team with a winning record, etc.
Each time Tua proves you wrong it doesn't change your views of him in any important way. You just keep moving goalposts again. If he wins a playoff game you'll move the goalposts again. Rinse and repeat. Just admit you're wrong already.Last edited: Dec 25, 2023danmarino likes this. -

I don’t know what your goalposts are but let me try using this measuring stick.
Year 2 of Tua, first year starter.
Miami 9-8, missed the playoffs
Year 3; McDaniel’s 1st year
Miami 9-8; #7 seed playoffs…with help from other teams’ losses.
Year 4
Dolphins secure playoff berth week 16, currently #2 seed, vying for division title and #1 seed.
If you ask me, using THIS measuring stick, the Dolphins and Tua are only getting better and better.
Last season, we needed to win our last game AND needed help to make the playoffs. This season, we’re already IN the playoffs…and vying for the #1 seed.
If you looked at this on a simple line or bar graph, you can’t argue with it.
