Straw grasping. You're doing it.
Also, he's been with Miami now longer than he was with the Lakers...but hey...Kobe just missed another shot so you've got that going for you.

It's a stat ESPN put up that says the Heat are the only team in the NBA with 5 players in the top 90 in PER from last year. Well, now they're the only team with 6 as Amare was 35th in PER last year.
Yeah the problem is its not sustainable for long stretches. And the explosiveness....gone. I loved having Amare in NY though...cant front. Wont miss that defense though.

Grant will end up being steal of the draft. Book it.
Kristaps looked pretty darn good today as well....19 minutes 12 points (3/5FG 6/7FT) 3 rebs 2 blocks vs SAS
Grant and Early looked good as well....Early had 18 and Grant 12
we don't need him to do anything for long stretches, he's just a 15 mpg player for us.

Yeah, like VL said, he doesn't have to sustain it. All we need are bursts.

Well, thing is ...Richardson is MUCH more formed than Ennis was coming out.
He is, but he still needs to work on being aggressive on the attack on offense. He's a little timid at times.

I posted that the heat should consider Grant at 10. He was a good get for you guys.
Spurs signed an ugly giant from euroleague.. 7'4 with a 9'7 standing reach. Slow but pretty good numbers.
Richardson with another strong performance. Really taking to this kid. Fast, long, active, and a pretty well-rounded set of skills.
Didn't realize they were playing again. Should have taped it.
Seems like both Richardson and Kalinoski came back to earth a bit with their three point percentages.

Ennis had another subpar, at best, performance.
Confidence must be shot considering the offseason we've had. The guy is athletically gifted but if he cant do somethinng about his handle then he doesnt have a place on this league..

The weaknesses he had as a prospect are still pretty glaring, imo. He just hasn't improved those areas enough in 2+ years. Struggles to finish in traffic, not a threat to shoot off the bounce, slow first step that doesn't threaten his defender, his handle is a liability, and he's still not consistently quick/smart enough in the offense. I love the vertical playmaking and the highlights and the potential to get hot from 3, but in terms of becoming a well-rounded player, struggling.

Thornton just signed with Houston according to Winderman, so that's that.

Oh well, that means Josh Richardson definitely has playing time opportunities here now.

Took a 1 year minimum deal. I guess we weren't so hot on him if we didn't offer. Looks like we're high on our rooks or are confident in Rio. Maybe a combination of both.
I guess signing Green rendered Thornton unnecessary.

The Heat just never actually offered Thornton a contract and judging by his language, if he thought they were going to do so he wouldn't have signed elsewhere. Signing with Houston is a sign he thought the Heat just weren't going to pull the trigger.
I think signing Gerald Green definitely affected things but also the progress of Justise Winslow and Josh Richardson probably affected interest as well.

There's still the possibility of moving Rio/Birdman for another shooter and/or backup PG.

I think the question at this point has to be whether they're not in a tenable salary situation. If they're not then yeah they'll continue trying to move Bird and/or Rio. But if they're alright they'll just wait and see if anyone offers anything, which probably won't happen.
The market seems thin on what to get in place of Bird/Rio.

Let's have some fun for minute....Jerian Grant is wearing #13 for the Knicks. The last Knick to wear 13 as a rookie PG was.....?
Mark Jackson. He won Rookie of the Year. :)
Here's a statement which is destined to be interpreted the absolute wrong way but when I see people talking about Josh Richardson's needing to beef up I don't necessarily buy it because I think his game reminds me a bit of Michael Jordan's. That's what his build reminds me of, the way he moves, the array of areas where he can threaten on offense. Is he the shooter that MJ was? Course not. Is he the finisher at the rim that MJ was? Not even close. I'm just saying the archetype is sound in terms of the build versus playing style. That said I'm not opposed to Richardson perhaps putting on 10 pounds.

Wait. Was it in Stoudamire's contract to make up with the fire extinguisher?
Headcoach material wouldn’t want to work somewhere they’re not trusted with actual football decisions.

You guys got Ricky Ledo too, another PC guy (along with Cotton) I didn't see the game the other night how did he do? Immensely talented, .02 head though, not all his fault though as he watched his father get gunned down in front of him when he was little.....kid had a ROUGH upbringing...
