I believe that when we send in Pat White and runs right into the line, and Henne comes back in after he was hot, and has now cooled down. Dan not getting Ronnie and Ricky more in the game when the Patriots were giving up 4.5 yards a game. This would have been to Henne's benefit because the defense would have to respect the run. Not having a number 1 wide receiver to go down the field to stretch the defenses out more. This one I throw at Jeff Ireland, and Bill Parcells for not wanting to make a deal for Boldin.
As I have stated and this is the last time, Dan Henning is not helping Henne with his terrible play calling.
This defense must get younger and quicker next year. Wake needs more time to play. We need to get another DT, DE, Inside and outside linebackers, and a WR's whether it is in the draft or FA, I want to see some things progress and get Henne some help.
Tough questions will be do we bring back Porter, Taylor, Ferg, and Allen, just to name a few. Like I said we don't have the mental toughness on this team.
Joey if you are going to run your pie hole to the other team, back it up. If you can't do that, keep the pie hole shut. Let your play on the field speak for itself.
I am getting very tired of watching games slip away this year, when there is no reason why we continue to do it. I don't care if we win against the bottom talent of the league, I want to win against the very best the league has to offer.

We need Boldin here like Boldin needs a fresh start. Hopefully he can come here this Spring.
Moss was traded for a 4th, Edwards for a 3rd or 5th.
How many times will we pass on these big play recievers.
Heck, TO to Miami in a offseason signing and Boldin in a trade woudl give us one of the best WR tandems in the league. -

Who would be happy having trent edwards overthrow them? TO can be a great WR in our dink and dunk offense, he can shed tackles if hit in the hands. -
Eh, gotta go through the valley to get to the peak ffic.
I thought Henning did what he could, thought Henne looked as if the game is now starting to slow down for him, he is not there yet, he is really close though.
We only ran the option because our passing attack does not so much attack as complain alot, they quite get around to attacking.
And Porter is clearly wearing the "*******" hat today, talk talk talk and that pseudo Rook from the CFL is as productive in 11 snaps as JP has been for the last two games.Fin Fan In Cali likes this. -

This is very sad and inept play calling to say the least. RB has 15 rushes and Ricky was 7 for 33. This from a team that is giving up 4.5 yards a game, and our wildcat is averaging 6.0 yards a play. Come on Tony, wake up and get tough already.gafinfan and k-bayfinfan like this. -
If we are going to hold our players feet to the fire, we mind as well stay true to our colors, and hold our coaches to the same fire. Brother Byroan brought up another dandy, WR coach Karl Dorrell. He should be giving his check back he gets every month.

FFIC, I agree with your sentiments for the most part, especially about getting Ricky and Ronnie more involved. I'd love to see us use them more in the passing game, especially if we aren't going to run.
I'm with you on our linebackers, and getting someone to replace Fergy. But I disagree with you on needing DEs. Merling, Langford, Starks, and McDaniel have all made plays at the DE spot.
I know you're looking for pass rush but we don't get that from the DEs in the 3-4 ... it's more on Porter and Taylor for doing next to nothing. It's amazing to me that this team is 6th in the NFL with 21 sacks ... it just doesn't seem like we're getting that much pressure on the passer.Fin Fan In Cali likes this. -

Are we as a team do we have too tough of a schedule, not enough depth, and or not the right players and coaches to make it work? I am interested to see what your thoughts are for this record that I feel we have under achieved.

What bothers me about the Wr corps is they do not rise to challenges, only Greg C has stepped up his level of play, the other 3 sort of are fading away.Fin Fan In Cali likes this. -

B) rookie Qb more or less,
C) I don't feel we underachieved, nor do I feel we overacheived, to me we are playing exactly at the level one would expect, loses to elite teams, wins against mediocre and poor teams.
We have to jump 4 teams to have a shot at the playoffs, we play two of them in the Jags and Texans, those two games will be a great test of the 09 Phins. -
-
The Chargers, Colts, Saints, and Pats we under achieved. Those games were in our grasp, but we as a unit, could not hold on long enough to come up with the victory.

-
I do like what I see in Henne. He just needs help.
-
28-5 or so?
Last season with Penny we learned how to beat poor teams, this season it is a whole new level of difficulty.
And keep in mind, those teams have not played each other, the Pats are going to get a dose of the Colts and Saints at their stadiums, it will be interesting to see how that plays out. -
-
Why play hard for 45 minutes and just hang in up the last 15 minutes?
-
Last question of the night. Who is holding this team accountable?
-
The same problems have been glaring in all of our losses and even in our wins
1) We have no playmaking WR or TE the Trifecta cannot ignore this anymore
2) We need a stud ILB,a stud Safety and a young stud NT.
3) Our DBs are talented yet inexperienced and they show alot of promise.
4) injuries have hurt us.

I may be called a Negative Nancy, and that is fine, but there are things wrong with this team, and I am just trying to point some of them out.
-
I mean, I know we were in the game, and had a chance to win, but I think it is a bit much to say we should've won, or we let them off the hook. -

It might just be me but we have struggled in our base offense when Ginn isn't in there. I know now he is used primarily as a decoy but it seems the defenses are not respecting our Receivers at all. In doing this the running game as taken a hit. I just hope we dont embarrass ourselves against the Bucs.
