Why at 5-3 it's way too early to get all hyped over Miami as a playoff team. In any season. Ever.
When we are 6+ games over .500 in late November or December ... then believe the hype that this is a good team.
This game (really this season) is a vintage archetype of what Miami has been for nearly 20 years with a couple of minor exceptions. It's like living in a time warp. It's like groundhog day but you can't figure out what's going on and improve yourself. You're stuck in a bad day with no hope of getting any real improvement.
It is what they will be the rest of the season. Good one or two weeks. Bad one or two weeks.
The team is, shall we say, Philbin-esque? (which also means Wanny-esque and Sparano-esque).
And, now, with the loss of Albert and possibly Finnegan ... and the Bills on Thursday ... good grief.
It's just getting depressing watching this team decade after decade. Sorry for the rant but this is frustration of decades (not weeks, months or years, decades).
It's not just mediocrity but also some terribly bad luck (see the injuries).
Still hope but such hope (especially with the loss of such a critical position) is fading fast ... a loss to the Bills could be devastating (we lose and we are ostensibly two games behind them with six to play because of the head-to-head 0-2 disadvantage). Crazily enough, we're behind the entire Central Division!

The Dolphins weren't bad today, they just weren't as good as the Lions. Imo they haven't played a bad game since Week 3. The Bills will be tough, no question, but I gotta ask, if the emotional roller coaster is upsetting then why ride it?

Dude, stop. You're in Fantasyland, where you know more than Lazor, Philbin, etc, and its only making you more and more confused. -
if you don't have a problem with the gameplan today and how they underutilized the athletic qbs skill set, considering what we know about the qbs skill set, we have nothing to debate, because if you don't question this, you question nothing.LBsFinest likes this. -
I question if youre aware of the complexity of the pro game game or if you have the necessary level of respect for the coaches you're critiquing. Frankly, you remind me of a proud papa yelling advice to the coaches at your son's little league game. -
As far as your last statement goes, you don't know me..calling me that guy, is a direct insult, im done with you. -
Looks like some folks are afraid to admit what our Qb is, and afraid to commit to the style of offense that needs to be played to get the best out of that Qb ...I surely am not.bring it on, I know what he does well, embrace what he does well.

In the zone read the QB has various options, they are not up to the coach, but the QB at the line and snap. I'm not upset with the coaches that Miami get's off to awful starts (read the stat line in the first Q). This is a system that it seems the players have to find a rhythm. Don't think I can blame the coaches for that, not when the team is at it's best after halftime, that's coach-work. Execution of the gameplan is on the players. The players know it, and Wallace is gonna call out his QB soon.

I saw this as a tough loss to a good team with a great defense. The Dolphins didn't beat themselves, they just got outplayed by a really good team on their home field. I'm as disappointed as anyone else, but let's see how they do against Buffalo before we write the season off.

The question is are the head coaches to blame or the lack of a franchise QB?
There are times when RTH looks great and then other times when he looks mediocre. A great QB can help overcome team deficiencies to lead their team to wins in these kind of close games. This loss was a team loss.
Our offense could only muster 16 points, 7 of which came on a FG block returned to the 5. We have to make more plays. Clay needs to be more consistent and make that catch. Our OL needs to step up and block. Our WR's are getting paid way too much to not be one of the best units in the game. And RTH needs to learn how to throw a f'ing deep ball. What's the point in having Wallace if we can't utilize the one thing he brings to a game that few others can? -
More or less, until THill turns the corner this is Dolphins football, close games, some won, some lost, .500 the usual outcome

I wrote almost the same thing and I got *****ed at and told to go away. This team isn't a playoff team. We won the games we should have over bad teams. San Diego I cant explain they just packed it in..
When were in first place and 4-5 wins over .500 Ill get excited again..
You cant come out FLAT and come back all the time in the second half.. Not against decent teams. And Detroit isn't an uper echelon team they have played some bad teams.. They wont be contenders . -

This game is a classic example of fans with unreasonable expectations. You should have known beforehand there was a strong chance we would lose, as in 50/50 even with us playing pretty well going in. They are a bad matchup for us, it's on the road, and they were 6-2.
I get pointing to us losing the Bills this year, or last year to them twice, or last year's Bucs game. Don't point to last Sunday.Piston Honda and Aqua4Ever04 like this. -

On a vast majority of the deep throws, he puts it where a good WR should be able to make a play on it...some of the ones that were dropped earlier in the year were bread-basket, some were very catchable, a few were too far off. I'd say a vast majority of his really deep throws have been catchable. He needs to continue to tweak/develop it, not take it out of the game plan. -

That throw for the game-winning TD was sick...almost impossible to defend...and the RB made a great catch.
Meanwhile, CC dropped a TD and we blew coverage on Tate. They were the better team on Sunday. -
