I'm pretty sure that even at our biggest crowds the last handful of years, we had like 67-68,000 tops. If we're around 73,000 tomorrow the place is going to be packed.
This is going to be an awesome crowd I think. Along with the boiling heat, we may actually have a true home field advantage. -
First game of the year + underdog at home + full stadium + division rival atop the division for years = upset and Dolphins win.

Theres a vibe around this team I havent felt in a long time...Hope we keep it goin

Our fans need to remember it's a long game, their gonna score points, if we lose energy on a drive and choose to sit on our ***, it affects the players, they feel that...and this is our vicious cycle that we've had here for a very long time..
Don't worry if they score, it's about stopping one drive at a time, every drive counts..every new set if downs is a chance to stop, forget the last series or set of downs if it didn't go our way. -
If we wanna set the tone and start to build something players can be proud of and play for something then fans will sacrifice their tail gate festivities and get their beer inside and get to their seats, main problem is that at 1 o'clock fans will wait til the last minute to take their seats, the sun in Miami at 1 o'clock is like no other in the league, and it pounds people, it deflates people, it puts you on your ***, it surely doesn't engage you into the game, only the diehards like myself can handle elements like that and still do what I need to do, this is why the roof should help us tremendously with fans at least feeling more comfortable sitting down early at 1, sitting in the shade watching will be a much better experience..bottom line, it will give the fan more energy so they in return can give it to the players.

And it sounds corny, and I've fallen for the banana in the tailpipe before, but their pretty serious about following the credo.Alex13 likes this. -
I believe the fans affect the refs too. I boystrous crowd that calls the refs out for their BS makes them think twice about BS calls at crutial periods of the game. I think the opening shot the media uses is a tape delay about 20 minutes early and it always looks like the stadium is empty. Or everyone is at the concession lines because I heard they are really slow or it's so hot everyone watches from the concourse. Either way, the stadium will not look full at the opening shots.

On the other hand, the game has little if any similar meaning for the Patriots (it's a comparatively mundane game for them), which is why I think this one will be an upset for the Dolphins. -
Super hot baking sun + drinking don't mix. You can get wasted and rowdy in Seattle b/c it's 70deg and overcast. In Miami you pass out...Fin D likes this. -
Incentive based give aways ( like if your in the building before a certain time you get a free _____. If not you don't.
PA announcements...really just have to go there..
Volunteers outside walking around the building with megaphones urgings fans to get inside and in their seats.
Signs put up outside the venue where we have the club zone as reminders..
Signs put up inside the corridors..
Radio announcements.
Emails to season ticket holders stressing the importance..also telling them to tell their guests.
I'm sure I could go on.
To change a culture you have to go all in..you have to shake the fans a bit..you have to start a snowball to have one pick up more snow.Colorado Dolfan and Brasfin like this. -
I've seen people get pounded by that sun in the first and just sit there like zombies, just battling..lots of them are hungover from the night before, some are drunk from tailgating, then bam, heat blast like no other..
This all plays a role in the emotion and mindset of the players..you can't tell me that players aren't affected negatively or positively by the energy inside the building. -
If the fans are in their seats early in the game, the early shots of the stadium will seem as if the stand are full, and in turn creating a snowball effect...people who are watching from home will feel like going to the games if it seems like the stadium is filling up regularly.djphinfan likes this. -
I just hope that they don't spend the whole four hundred million on bells and whistles..they really need to understand the importance of actually moving the stands closer to the field, which requires true concrete relocation, from everything I've read, reread, listened to, and I've read and listened to every possible word, from what I know I only think their gonna add four rows along the bottom row that's already there..I heard one comment about some shifting but it was grey and not clear..
Did you notice that they painted the whole club section aqua?... Check it out, it looks good. -
I think the main problem is that the team hasn't had an adequate quarterback (save for Chad Pennington's year) since about this era:

Notice there doesn't seem to be any problem with the stadium in that clip. -

I think Deej's point about the layout of the stadium is a great point. Yes, having a great team helps as well, but you can NOT beat the effect 12 has in Seattle...

Notice the similarity in terms of the distance of the seats from the field on the sidelines. -

I'd still rather they had Seattle's stadium. -

Having a home field advantage shouldn't give you a disadvantage in the road if you're properly coached. Winning on the road often takes superior QB play which the Patriots have had an Seattle has not.
If you look simply at teams with elite QBs I'd imagine their home and road winning percentages are very good regardless of venue. -
