No depth. Anywhere. Poor cap situation. Traded away a top wr and our best cb for picks. Now vulnerable at both those positions. Hiw is it possible to have a regime thst emphasized ol and have a poor one with no AREAS of strength on the team. Ireland is awful at managing the cap and assets, and isnt an ace talent evaluator either. What are his redeeming qualities?
Furthermore, is there a team in the nfl with less brand name talent anywhere?
What is a dtrength of this team, besides punter?

So you studied every team's 90 players and know we're the worst?
Have you seen our cap room for next season?Destroyer likes this. -
We traded away a lazy bum for a second round pick.

cap room is fine on our team.... talent is another question.

The ireland defenders are almost as much of a problem as ireland becuase they buy his BS spin and the lack of outrage at his sheer stupudity gives him more time to screw us further.

VD was no slouch.....up until last year and this years training camp he was considered to be among the top 10 or so CB in the league. Funny how all of the sudden he's a lazy bum and a bust. VD was probably one of the best man to man cover CB in the NFL. Plus he is physical and plays the run well....last year his tackling fell off yes but he is in no way a average run of the mill CB. Any time I have ever heard him in discussions on tv or what not people always have him at high praise. The Colts got a bargain and VD will play great football for years to come.

I used to be an Ireland defender. No more. I argued endlessly around how treated Dez and defended him over it.
I'm done defending and supporting Ireland. His track record is abysmal. 6 years to fix the OL and we still can't get it right.
Now we trade our 2nd best player on offense and 2nd best player on D for draft picks that will surely be wasted like a majority of his draft picks.

I think we are intending to re-sign Sean Smith and felt that Vontae Davis hadn't shown enough thus far for the coaching staff and front office to feel that he would be a long-term plan for them at cornerback. So we dealt him to get what we could out of him... if the light went on for Vontae, he could be a top 5 cornerback in the NFL. But will the light come on? If I was a betting man, I'd say no. -
I think we all need to stop watching Hard Knocks, or at least you! -

Vinny is one of the biggest knee-jerk reactors out there. Our roster isn't the worst in the league, and it's not even close. Come on dude.

Sorry man but it's real.
Vontae got his *** humped in camp and he couldn't hang. -
was going to be a horror show of a year with or without Davis.

Who do we deal at the deadline for picks? Ill take Reggie Bush.

The team is gloomy enough. Need some fanspiration. -

We all know Sean Smith has six or so games a year where he flatout sucks and reminds us of Jason Allen. Do we not remember last season?
-
If we were going to trade someone, it should have been Bush. The guy's value is higher than it was last year, he's older and won't be around when we're good, and we have young guys at that position to fill in.
Instead, we trade a young guy from a position where we're thin.
It makes very little sense. -
Rocky, I wish I had the faith in Ireland some here do with the picks he's stockpiling. I don't. I'm sorry. I dont believe he's a particularly keen evaluator of talent and he will squander the assets he's acquired for the players he's dealt, IMO. -

We ignore WR until it sinks to the worst grouping in the league, leaving our promising young QB bereft of weapons.
He signs a hybrid corner/safety in Marshall and lets our Pro Bowl strong Safety Bell go THE SAME DAY, insuring our Secondary is still one guy short of being effective in nickle or dime groupings.
No conviction. -
I made the assumption that the team passed on Flynn because Philbin wasn't sold on him. I'm not so sure about that anymore. We'll see what happens, but if I were going to rate the player additions of 2 bad teams last year, I'd say the Colts are already improving at a faster rate than the Dolphins and I'm not including Andrew Luck. -
