I'm going to need a wide receiver to step forward. Seriously, besides Bess, no one seems to want to grab the bull by the horns. I have high hopes for Roberto Wallace, and he was only in for what, 2 plays?
The defense was MUCH better tonight. Got pressure on the QB, stopped the run, and besides that one brain fart by Jones/Marshall, played well in the secondary. This without Dansby and Burnett. Very encouraging.
I thought John Jerry played pretty well too. That opening big run by Bush he had a great seal block.
Jonathon Martin was better than last week, but still needs to improve.
Daniel Thomas was very good tonight. I've been saying since the spring that he is going to be a big part of our offense. I hope he can keep it up because a Bush/Thomas 1-2 punch sounds sexy.
I STILL don't see what all these reporters see in Naanee in practice. He finally wasn't invisible tonight, but only because he was dropping multiple passes.
Ryan Tannehill again I thought was ok. Some good, some bad, and no help for the most part. Not worried about him at all. That pass down the sidelines to Gates was a thing of beauty.
I wanted to come out of this game feeling good going into week 1. I feel pretty good about the defense, but the offense needs to step up. Notably the receivers not named Bess, and the O-Line. You got 2 weeks to figure it out.

I also have high hopes for Wallace and was really disappointed about his lack of playing time.

DT looked like a much improved back to me as well. Bess is solid, the rest of the WR could be upgrades IMHO. Go get James Jones or whoever can catch. I am looking at you Jeff Ireland. If Martin is a liability move Jerry to RT and start Samuda to RG.
-
Well the Defese did a better job but over all we look horrible. Tannehill is not ready to lead this team and its even harder when have only one true wide receiver. We scored 6 points folks and that is nothing to brag about.
-
I agree that Ireland needs to be on the phone tonight looking for a receiver. Get James Jones here now.
At this point, I might give up a 1 for Mike Wallace.
We need someone else here, especially with Hartline's amputated leg.thisperishedmin, Jagfish and xphinfanx like this. -
What's with fasano? Not a superstar by any means but usually somewhat dependable. Doesn't seem so now.
F naanee. Cannot fathom why he's been talked up.
Cameron wake deserves more money. -
if Anthony Fasano was a baseball player, he'd be hitting like .250
aka he'd be traded to the dodgers for a young pitcher -

Poor Chris Hogan. Geeze, even BJ was in the game at WR before he was. I refuse to believe all those other WRs are better than Hogan.

I'm not worried about Fasano at all. He's one of the guys on offense who can make plays.

I saw a team that was similar to what I have seen from the Dolphins for the last three years. They play decent defense, while the OL and the WR's continue to struggle. With a rookie QB and the lack of offensive talent on the roster, I see maybe 5 wins this season.
That was my prediction several weeks ago before Tannehill was named the starter and I have seen nothing so far in the preseason to make me believe that this team will be anything but a bottom tier team once again this season.
The one positive is that, if Tannehill is ever given the benefit of having quality receivers on this team, along with a quality offensive line. He just might be the long term answer at the QB position. Unfortunately he is going to have to take his lumps this season because of the limited offensive talent on the Dolphins roster. -

Thought Gates finally, finally showed something
Thought VD running that Int all the way back was a message to the Staff.
Also think the only longshot guy who really stepped up was Steve Slaton and John Jerry did as well.
Philbin should call in the Wr Corps, and Sherman and Taylor, pull out the bottle of whiskey and make some decisions on this motley crew. -
Anthony Fasucko... you are horrible... you're the highest paid out of the receivers and tight ends... THREE drops... THREE in a half!!! He's the most overpaid player on our team. Way to help your rookie quarterback out and set the bar high for the younger tight ends. Dan Campbell should be ripping him a new one. He should get called out by Sherman next offensive meeting for being offensive. Most of our receivers are bad... but there is no excuse for Fasucko's play tonight.

I'm getting the feeling it might be a long year. Season will be success if we sweep the Jets.

No joke if Hogan was in the game for Nanee's playing time would we be wondering if we had a WR ?
Nanne is a freaking joke.
Martin saved his arse in the play he let the D walk by and slap Tannehill around by actually recovering the ball.
I thought the D did a very good job overall considering it was alot of 2nd stringers from the start.
We did get to fist pump w00t 3 more points. Sparano would be proud. -
Side note. Chargers saying Ingram injury is a bruised thigh. Looked a lot more serious than that but glad he isn't out for the year.
-
Or maybe he's got the team made and they wanted to use this game to value players on the fence....which is just about all of them minus Bess. -

5 wins seems pretty accurate, even before tonight's game
-
Did not see the game tonight but what really stands out to me from the stat lines is the horrendous completion percentage from our QB's and the 4.5 yard per catch avg.
WTF?
Were there a lot of drops by WR's and were we only throwing underneath? -
