They do. However, it should be noted that through three games (compared to last season), RTs YPA has gone up from 6.94 to 7.90 and his YPC has gone from 11.3 to 12.2. His comp percentage (3 game sample also) went up from 61.4 to 64.6, on 14 fewer passes than in those games the year prior.

So fewer passes, for more yards, a higher completion percentage, and more yards per throw and per completion. Other than the ugly interceptions that need cleaned up, RT has started this year better in every single way compared to 2015. Its better.

Passer rating is also better, 88.8 to 85.5.

he can't be blamed for not having at least an average run offense and defense. right now Miami is 30th in defense and 24th rushing. it's the same issues as last year when you look at it statistically.last year they were 23rd overall in rushing and 25th in defense. that formula brought us 6 wins last year. Tannehill could in fact break records passing, but with this defense and rush attack, it will be a lot of garbage time and with fewer opportunities than the opposing team.

Jimmy Johnson chose A, and it was a terrible choice. 3.6 YPC or worse each of his four seasons. It was wrong then, and it would be wrong today.

The rules clearly favor the passing game now. Back then it was more of a run first league. Only we couldn't run the ball. Much like how we cant run the ball now.

It's "B" by default ........ not by choice. They slacked big time in shoring up the RB spot.

Im not disputing that they didnt do enough at RB. Retaining Miller would have been the correct choice in hindsight. They tried to catch lightning in a bottle with Foster but they caught his usual injury bug mixed in with good play when hes actually been on the field.

I just want to take a moment to say that I don't mind losing Lamar Miller and I'm actually kind of getting sick of hearing about how bad off we are now that he's gone. Not picking on your statement Boik but it needs to be said that the loss of Miller isn't that big a deal. A lot of people are talking about him like he's going to go on to Houston and have some career that proves he's an incredible talent. Let's put that myth to bed.

Look, I get that we could use a RB but don't tell me some big myth about a guy I watched play for 4 seasons. I know who Lamar Miller is and he's not an elite player. He is not AP, or Jamaal Charles or LeSean McCoy. He's at the edge of being a potential Pro-Bowl player, maybe for a year or two. In a league with so many great backs, that isn't actually that special.

I will be very surprised if Miller does anything to garner more attention from fans around the league than what he was able to while being a Dolphin. He's got good vision and decent speed. He's not an elite play-maker by any stretch however.

He's being fed the rock at a rate that's going to kill him. Yes, he projects to amass 1,700 all-purpose yards which is great but his 450 total touches shows the team is riding him hard. He's 1 rushing attempt off the league leader (Blount) and he's running at 3.6 ypc which is ranked 28th in the league.

To put that in perspective, the rushing total Lamar Miller will get in 400 carries was accomplished last year by Peterson in 327 carries...and that 327 carries was a league-high in attempts! In short, you can't rush for 1,400 yards on a 3.6 average. The guys who do that are up above 4. AP was 4.5 while Doug Martin was 4.9. Occassionally a RB will get 400 carries like DeMarco Murray did in 2014 but he got 1,850 yards. Again a 4.7 average allowed that.

So yeah, you can bang those yards out of Miller the same way Wannstedt banged 'em out of Ricky Williams if you wanna wear the guy down but at least Ricky was a special player that could carry an offense. Miller, to me, does not seem like that level of player. In 2002 Ricky carried the rock nearly 400 times, put up 2,200 all-purpose yards and led the league in rushing. The following year he carried it the same number of times and his average dropped to around 3.5 where Miller's is now and what happened? The dude chose to walk away largely because his body was being run into the ground.

I think there's homer bias in any Miami fan that considers the loss of Lamar Miller a real long-term hindrance. Nice asset? Sure. Amazing player? C'mon.

lol, talk about jumping to conclusions. No one said any of that.

Miller is far and away better than any back on the team and RB is a legit weakness right now. That is the only point.

He Concluded nothing. I've noticed many have started holding Miller in higher regard since he's walked. Many have alluded to him being an elite player that has only been underutilized, and would surely churn out multiple pro-bowl seasons with an extended workload. "Still scratching the surface"

We can argue that we should have payed *Near top dollar *for Miller.... But him being simply better than Jay Ajayi was hardly reason enough to. Sure, we all know he's a good player any team would like to have. Truth is Miami's running game looks the same as when he was our guy... And like Elway said.."Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make"

why can't we just leave a back in shotgun with Tannehill and at least attempt to run from this formation?

Well in terms of the running back situation, my hope is that Kenyon Drake can step in and hold it down for the rest of the year. Let Ajayi take the short yardage stuff, but I think Drake needs 12-15 carries a game. Use him the way we used Miller. Everyone complained (including Miller himself) that he was underused here in Miami, but with Drake (being that he is a smaller type of back) we can use him in the Miller role. I really like what i've seen from Drake thus far, but we will certainly need someone to step in for him. Hopefully Ajayi can remove head from ass and begin to do that.
