Well, looking at it this way, it could be argued that Best would have been the better pick than Odrick, and Misi and Gronkowski would be a good discussion, but otherwise they only missed on the need for a kick returner in David Reed and Mark Mariani.
And they had scouted Mark Mariani but passed on him, so all in all if you look at the 5 picks that happened right after our picks they really did not miss too badly on any of their picks, though at this moment in time Best for Odrick or Saffold for Odrick would have worked a bit better for us moving forwards.

The problem wasnt necessarily Odrick at #28, it was being at #28 in the first place.

So we shouldn't have traded down? -
If Odrick's injury heals and he comes back and plays and gives us a really good DL for the next 4 years, then I have no problem with him with our 1st round pick. Kind of reminds me of Daryl Gardener and his back. He had a short career, but still teamed up with Timbo to give us a formidable DT formation for a few years.

I wouldn't have. Not with Thomas/Bryant /Graham there.
I think we were justd esparate to trade down instead of being focused on getting a true difference maker. Koa Misis's are a dime a dozen -
Ah, but if we had taken Best would the offense have been as bad as it was?
And we already had Phillip Merling as well as Tony McDaniel and they botched the whole "Starks will play Nose Tackle" move as Soliai was primed and they just did not buy in, which means adding Odie in hindsight was overkill for 2010.
Now if we lose McD, and Odie comes back then we have a ready replacement. -
Yeah to bad we did not have an unknown OLB who could make plays..like Erik Walden..oh wait...
(Devils Advocate mode I actually like Koa Misi's game a great deal) -
They botched "Starks playing Nost Tackle" by Soliai becoming really good.
I do think that Signing McDaniels and Solia is going to be hard if they want to also sign a big offense free agent. -
I like Misi too, but there are plenty of guys who can play adequately against the run and give you 5 sacks per year.
I dont know that Misi is ever going to be a great pass rusherRicky'sBong likes this. -
Maybe they let Soliai walk and go ahead with the move of Starks to nose tackle.

Well....
Jason Taylor had how many sacks his rookie year?
Misi has even talked about the need to develop different moves to get to the QB...and we know he has the head and the motor to do this....
Im very happy with the Odrick pick, as long as this isnt a re occurring injury. Misi is great...love the pick, even over Jahvid Best.
Gronkowski would have been an awsome pick...though. Im not sure if he looks this talented because he has Brady throwing him the ball...or because he is this talented. Probably somewhere in between.
John Jerry looks like a flop....
AJ Edds fits a need and could be a very good nickle back for us in the future....
Nolan Carrol...I think hes gonna be a stud....will be a gem in one or two years and will be looked upon as maybe one of the best value picks in the draft. Love him on KR's..hes gonna break some next year.
Reshad Jones...he's looked very solid..and given the need at safety...was a good pick. Not sure about McCoy yet...alot of people were pretty high on his potential....
All in all....a very good draft so far if you ask me.....but I dont look at Odrick and Edds being injured as pulling down the weight of the draft grade yet. -

Eh...I hope not.
Soliai had a Pro Bowl caliber season there.....definitely need to get him locked up.
Also would like to see them lock up Ronnie Brown...I like him alot and think we just need a player like Noel Devine to compliment him. -
You might want to compare Soliai to the nose tackles in the afc east
before you say he had a pro bowl season
Soliai...39 tackles...2 sacks...
Wilfork..57 tackles...2 sacks...enabled Mayo to have 175 tackles this season
Williams...77 tackles...5.5 sacks
Sione Pouha...59 tackles...2 sacks...
Not sure Soliai had a better season than any nose tackle in the afc east
but he did have a good season for Paul Soliai -
-
Well, I think Misi's numbers are close to Lamarr Woodley's as a rookie, Actually Misi had 4.5 and Woodley 4.0 as Rooks.
So all in all nothing to be too disappointed with if he continues to develop. -
I wouldn't have minded Robert Johnson in the 5th.
-
Stats for NT's are useless as GIK already said, and also, Soliai split NT duties with Starks and McDaniel.
-
We traded down to get our 2nd back and evidently there wasn't anyone they wanted at that spot. I still wanted Earl Thomas there and would have been a terrific pick, but I understand why we moved back. At this point though, I really don't like the Odrick pick. The guys seems to be made of glass.

Hell no.
