So, Tua had an Interview with Dan Le Batard and he spoke about the difference between Flores and McDaniel. While his answer may not be too surprising, but the bluntness was really something.

I was really upset at the time when Flores was fired. He’s obviously not a good HC.
I also thought Minka was a diva… seems like Flores may have run him off. Which is too bad. He’s a great player.Silverphin likes this. -

Tua even had a father who most would consider to be overly tough. Tua didn't need to be coddled. He needed to be coached and Flores had no interest.dolphin25, danmarino and Silverphin like this. -
Coaching players and training soldiers are not too dissimilar. Set task, conditions and standards…and mentor them to achieve said standards.
Some mentors are hard nosed, no nonsense in your face type of instructors. Some mentors are take a softer approach, more like a school teacher. And even other are a combination of the two.
No two human beings are alike. While each may have the ultimate end state goal, people have different motivations and good instructors strive to tap those individual motivations.
According to the video X, Tua essentially stated day in and day he was told he was a worthless piece of sh!t. We’ve all had bosses that were like that and hated our job. We’ve also had bosses that have believed in us and strived to motivate us to reach our full potential.
McDaniel is the latter to Tua contrary to Flores, and Tua’s play the last 2 seasons under McDaniel is a testament to that. -

Tua isn't and has never been the main problem. The problem with this team in the playoffs is in the trenches.

I wonder how many quarterbacks had their careers either ruined or never reached their max potential due to situations like the one Tua was facing with Flores.

At the NFL level QBs make coaches look good not vice versa. Dolphin fans have had a front row seat to this with the hirings of Philbin who got his job thanks to Rodgers and Gase who lucked into HC position after "coaching" Peyton.
We can talk about the difference between Flores and McDaniel till the end of time I'll still believe adding Tyreek Hill, Armstead, Mostert, etc had more to do with the offensive improvement than which coach was saying nice things to Tua. -
