Just turned it on. Have I missed it? Looks like they'll be talking Dolphins vs. Falcons next.
-
I just finished watching a show on NFL Network - NFL's Top Ten Opening Days. They showed a thing of beauty - Danny boy and his 5 passes in the 1994 game against Bledsoe and the Patsies. It was awesome to see that clip!

they're talking about it as we speak
-
looks like we can own the falcons on 3rd and long situations. or we can just avoid 3rd and long situations.
-
they basically said the falcons suck and the dolphins rule.

He'll always be the best in my mind. Don't really care what other teams think. they were always scared of him. And jealous that we had the best of the best. -

The force is strong with you, although I sense the dark side is strong with you. -
I was just tickled to see it in your write up as that added mucho validity in what I saw.
Perhaps the only CB we will see that is worse than what the Falcons had in preseason, is Lito Sheppard. -

All the pundits are going with the Falcons as a better team. I think it is the Phins that have made more improvements. I think our D is good enough the contain their vaunted Offense and Ginn and Co. are gonna have a very good game. I called in the first play thread that it will be a play action pass up the side line to Ginn for a large gain. If that is the case then they will have to pull the 8th from the box and that will open all kinds of running lanes, IMHO.

And please stop telling people where I get my ideas from. The only reason I stay on the board is to steal others ideas and make them my own. :shifty: I call them my precious.
But in all honesty, the Falcons have some talent in their secondary but no leadership. Everyone is like a 1st or 2nd year guy and that is hard to do. They let Milloy go, and that will hurt them in the long run. The other issue is that some of their corners are better at man to man than zone; such as Chris Houston. Their recent acquisition of Tye Hill is a bit bewildering to me as I see him in the same mold.
The guys who will probably make plays are Grimes as he will deflect a pass or two or Chevis Jackson who may be used in the slot.
The fact that the team needed 2 guys this late in the process and that they had yet to settle on all four starters throughout the preseason means we could take advantage.
If there was a team to use a pass out of the WC formation on it would them, they are so inexperienced back there, I'm sure we could get something out of it.RickyNeverInhaled and njfinfan like this. -

I might be one that goes "out of the box" on this one...
I still see Defenses stacking the box against us, but when they get away from that it will not be because we have opened up with the pass...
We averaged enough YPA and or YPC (Yards per Completion) last year to keep Defenses honest, but opponents still stacked box for the most part. The OL was average at best in run blocking last year. Long rushing plays came out of the WC only and then it was when opponents stacked the box and then they were rare already...
I believe it will be because the OL will open up holes and or seal the edges for the RBs to get huge chunk of yards. Defenses will have to again spread out so the Safeties will be able to stay back and charge the RBs... and not due to the passing game... again out of the box thinking...
Big plays this year will come from the Run Game IMHO... give time for the OL to gell and things will work out real well for this team...54Fins likes this. -

I think we are going to be better this year than people think. Another year under the trifecta and better talent, should be a fun year.njfinfan likes this. -
