I'm okay with this, provided the compensation isn't much. If he fills the same role for Miami that he did for New Orleans, it is a good move. He brings more speed to the offense and with the eventual addition of Kyle Orton to man the QB spot, we should have a QB that can locate him in the open field. Give the front office credit, at least they are trying to fix the obvious flaws we had last year.
Now if we can just get them to address that pesky safety situation...Frumundah Finnatic and MarinePhinFan like this. -

Yes!!!! We have a home run threat at tailback. Could be a great punt returner for us too!

We need speed....but I think this means we could be keeping ONE of Ricky or Ronnie...probably Ricky due to shorter contract and less money??? We can't possibly go into the season with just Bush as starter and an unproven rookie in Thomas? Would feel good if Ricky (or Ronnie) was there. Especially with a question mark at QB.

Saints, Fins agree on contingent Bush trade
FYI guys
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports the Saints and Dolphins have agreed to the framework of a Reggie Bush trade provided the running back comes to an agreement with Miami on contract terms.
Sign-and-trades rarely happen in the NFL, so don't take this one to the bank just yet. If Bush fails to work out an agreement with the Dolphins, it's still possible that he will remain in New Orleans at a reduced rate. Bush has the potential to be a matchup nightmare for a QB who can make adjustments at the line of scrimmage, but that's not Chad Henne. This trade would take Miami out of the mix for Ahmad Bradshaw, though a bigger back like Marion Barber could still be pursued as insurance for early-down rookie Daniel Thomas. -
I keep telling everyone that we should keep Ronnie and play him at fullback..Fpt,fpt,fpt..But, no one will listen to me...Squeeyeeyeey! -
I'd rather have seen them spend money getting Bradshaw than giving up anything for Bush, but hey, I won't be complaining if he produces for us, will I?

I was thinking Thomas would be 3rd string With Bush and Ricky or Ronnie sharing the load. Just don't like having to rely on a rookie, when we really need to have a top rushing attack for any hope of the playoffs. Of course Thomas could turn out to be outstanding...but could also be a bust, we don't know.
If Glazer's report is true, I would rather have Ricky or Ronnie than Barber to go along with Bush and Thomas. -
-
But if we do land Bush and then go and sign Barber then I'm gonna flip the ****.
Gambling on Bush is one thing. Gambling on him and then insuring him with a guy like Barber (who's absolutely toast) to take over work if DT goes down is just asking for it. -

WOW!
Assuming we didn't give up too much, I don't see how anyone could dislike this move. Bush is EXACTLY what we need on offense, a playmaker with speed.djphinfan, siciliansith, GISH and 2 others like this. -
Wow, this is an interesting development. I'm gonna wait for the final details to come out. As most thought that he would get cut, I'm feeling we traded a 6th or 7th to make sure they didn't have to get into a bidding war with other teams.

Bush is not going to be our starting RB. I doubt, honestly, that Miami has one this year (at least, not a true starting RB).
With that said, Miami needs a scorer. Bush can score. Also, Miami needs to put butts in the seats. Bush can certainly OWN this town if he comes up big. And I think he can.
With that said, Bush is going to get paid. But I think he was coddled in New Orleans. I think if he expects to be treated like a king here, he's got another thing coming. He is going to have to work very hard to earn the respect of this team. Miami is a tough team. Sparano is a tough coach who expects his players to work hard. If you're not doing your job, you get cut or replaced. And I doubt Sparano becomes lax with a player like Bush.siciliansith and Bpk like this. -
