Hey Folds I just saw this and I think it's nice we are at
least looking at him. He still has the physical skills at least.

But why didn't we work out Plaxico? His 3 TD game was more than Ocho had all year, if memory serves...

Ocho isn't scheduled to WO.
Ocho heard we were picked for Hard Knocks on HBO and immediately issued a press release about working out for us, kidnapped his agent and jumped on a plane to Phins HQ. :lol:LandShark13 and djphinfan like this. -

we have absolutely nothing to lose if he is still viable on the playing field
1) he will come @ a bargain price
2) we only have two real starters
3) the stable is filled with projects, possibilities & late round picks
let him compete, there will little if any opportunity cost to the newbies
the price & experience will be right. he has always wanted to play for the team
he is an ex- ProBowler has always been considered eccentric but a good teammate
if he has no demands,
can come in @ a reasonable price
& the work out goes well
why not give him a shot? -
Watched a workou with ocho, mike Wallace and that other good Pitt wr and ocho was the most impressive.
Ocho doesn't just run the routes he wants he's just not as crisp. Took him a long time to grasp the patriot offense so he isn't the sharpest tool but he may still have a little value. Let's see what he has left b -
This is a simple offense according to our coaching staff (simple to understand but a fairly dense playbook) so maybe it's something that Ochocino can grasp. We don't know until we try him out and a try-out does not hurt. It's arrogant not to give him a try-out based on our current wide receiver corp.
EDIT: In the right offense, I think he could be a solid contributor like a Donald Driver... which is something we need. Bess and Hartline will be fine as the main two contributors in the passing game this year. -
More hard knocks fodder. Sigh
-
The guy runs good routes, and he's clearly not stupid. I'm curious what his real issue in New England was.

I honestly don't know that he's better than Brian Hartline right now. Sure wasn't in 2011.
That's not a knock on Hartline. I just think -- best case scenario -- Chad would join Brian in the starting lineup.
Not getting carried away with this though. It's just a workout. Donald Driver is probably the guy they'd like to have most. -
Remember now, we used the lockout as an excuse for everyone else. He had little time to get acclimated, & was an afterthought in an offense that thrived on the short passing game with welker, tight ends, and backs. Deion Branch already had a report with Brady and got most of what few deep passes there were to go around.
While I like chad ( he's not a dumb criminal fresh outta the pen like the alternative some are suggesting ) I just think its too late and we are in a developmental stage with our offense. We need guys who can get up to speed and be productive down the road for Tannehill. For it to be worth it he'd have to be a MAJOR contributor early on.
He does fit the mold they're looking for, he's ballsy over the middle too. I want to keep as many of these young guys as we can tho. -

It's offseason, no defenders, no pads, but fun to watch Ocho next to two top dog and rising stars.
I'm no guru, I don't even pretend to be one after staying a Holiday Inn, but it seems Chad's feet and cuts look much better then the rest.
Whether he has the top end speed remains to be seenxphinfanx likes this. -

15 catches playing with Brady, right?? Pass.....

Rumor was he was still being told on the field where to line up the week he was cut.
New England's playbook was just too complicated for him. -
Chads cuts are amazingly crisp in that video. Mike is scary fast and explosive but his cuts are pretty sloppy. Chad looked impressive, I wouldn't mind this signing.

Please, NO!!!!
We should have a sign on the front door reading, "No Prima Donnas Allowed"
Chad Johnson went from "Ocho Cinco" to "uno cinco"
No thank you!
