They were serious when they said this team was willing to start from scratch. We have less talent than an expansion team. In fact the roster at the beginning of the offseason looked like Super Bowl contenders compared to this team now! I wonder if we could beat a college team or elite HIgh School team right now??

For the first time, I literally HATE all the moves we are making and hope Flores and Grier are somehow forced to retire. What a fucking bunch of clowns. Flores and Grier are disgusting pieces of human shit that will ruin this team.

IMO Taylor was our best interior DL last season, but he didn't seem to be a fit with our new scheme.

I was a big Vincent Taylor fan, but he's not a fit for this scheme and they gave him every opportunity.

He spent all pre-season playing against 3rd string talent to try and let him show that he had some opportunity for growth in this defense, and he didn't show it. He's a straight-ahead 1-gap player, he didn't seem to have the balance to play NT or the flexibility to handle the stunts and exchanges in B-gap work. They made him basically the last cut, and let guys go who outperformed him this pre-season vs. better levels of competion(Spence, Washington, Mbu).

You can talk about modifying the scheme to fit the player, but the costs there are real- are you going to work Davon Godchaux to death as the only NT? Are you going to modify the roles of your young ILBs away from what they do best(and you want them to do) to make up for the lack of 2-gap play? Are you going to release Ledbetter, who showed real upside?

I don't like this move. He has always looked impressive when he was on the field.

Thank you for explaining the situation for us. I liked Taylor and am sad to see him go, but after your explanation I have a better understanding on why we would make a move. Considering Grier would trade anything with a heartbeat right now for a box of cracker jacks, I am guessing we probably tried to trade him for a draft pick, but it says a little something that we couldn’t.

Breaking: Dolphins cut fans!
In a surprise move, the Miami Dolphins this morning released all of their fans.

I'm going to try out for a Cleveland Browns forum on Wednesday and if that doesn't work out, I'm due to talk to Raiders Nation on Friday. Wish me luck guys...

Also, it goes back to the Patriots mantra, if you can't do your job, you can't work within the scheme and you can't get on the field due to niggling injuries/lack of conditioning, you don't have a place. It's a bit of a shock for us, as over the last 4 or 5 coaching changes, reputation has counted more than anything (even if you haven't earned it on the field) and we have consistently put square pegs in round holes.

It's clearly not about what he did last year, but what he can do this year under a new (different) coaching staff.

These days, I am forced to work Sundays so I looked into buying the nfl.com season pass. I live in central Florida and was surprised to see the Browns listed along with the Dolphins, Jags, and Bucs as one of the blocked out teams for the pre-season games. Not sure if that is an error or not but I can see why people are excited about them lately.

Browns have a 1000000x better chance than we do though.

Do you do realize that that by saying the Browns have a 10000000x better chance then we do; you are implying that we do have a chance?

You guys fall for offseason champs all the time... last year the Raiders were the offseason champs.. i will see it till i believe, for now steelers and ravens are both better and bengals are not that far off..

The browns are still the browns and will always be the browns.. odell doesnt change that.

I've tried watching some other teams but it's just not the same. My wife's family are Packers fans, and I can respect a lot of what they've done, and I don't mind the Cowboys or Eagles either, but regardless, they're not the Dolphins.

I'm sure I'll watch some other games this season, but I'm going to be rooting for the Phins!

Fins up!
