oh wow... i went balls deep in drunken anger that draft night. me and my good friend jack D.... I was sooo against picking up RT... but after it was said and done i really did hope he would change my mind. which he has been doing... lol me and emojock and destroyer on the front page... and it only got better. the night is all hazey. then again this was all pretty much under the pretense that he was being drafted as a project and was going to sit... especially when i still think he coulda slid to a later pick.

Considering this teams history with QBs since dan, calling anyone "idiots" is a stretch based off what info we had of RT at the time.... i'll be the first to admit im glad i was wrong, if he pans out.

"Idiots" wasn't fair. But for far too long fans held the mindset that we shouldn't ever try to draft a QB in the first round since they might bust. Even as other teams that drafted QBs in the first round were winning Superbowls. But more than a decade of mediocrity will instill a loser mentality into a fan base.

 

I agree man, but a lot of frusteration wasnt that we were mad at drafting a QB in the first, atleast for me. it was more about RT himself. I wasn't too keen on him and any tape I watched, I felt he was extremely raw and was being drafted to end up straight sitting behind moore..... between that half a bottle of jack if wasnt a good night.

For the most part I agree with your sentiments of "too much bargain basement qb shopping is a bad bad thing, and you go for first round qbs until you find the right one" but with Matt Moore coming off that last season stretch I just didnt like the pick and wanted to build elsewhere. Man I hope he starts to show some consistency with that cannon he has. I'm pretty stoked... please prove me wrong in the craziest of ways, Ryan. and get 'Over the Tannehill'
