Deus ex dolphinforum_veteranMiami can win this game and STILL control getting the #1 pick. We can lose the second game versus the Jests and the game versus the Bengals and get that first pick. Anyone saying we'd drop to the #3 pick with a win today is ignoring the Dolphin schedule.

If we get the #1 pick and solve our QB problem, then this season has tons of meaning. Even without getting the #1 pick, if we draft well enough with all the high draft picks we got for key players traded to rebuild the team into something more than mediocre, then it definitely has meaning. Of course we might whiff on those draft picks (not that unlikely lol) and then this season is worthless!
Can't tell if this season is meaningful or not until we see how future draft picks turn out.
And btw.. if this "tanking" doesn't work, there's no question where the real fault lies: Ross. It means he can't find the right HC and GM.

So until Cinci starts winning, I'm not going to root for us to win hoping we can somehow make up for it afterwards because we probably won't!

It will come down to Strength of Schedule as the tiebreaker for all the 1-15 teams. All I'm saying is that 0-16 isn't necessary to get the #1 pick if Miami wins today. They can tank AND not join the 0-16 teams in infamy.
Not that they are playing like they can win anything today. OL is not going to show up it seems.
