So last Thursday, Omar Kelly blurts out a tweet about having once shot at someone with intent to harm. Later, he deletes the tweet and makes a nebulous, sort-of-but-not-really explanation. I just checked Twitter, and he hasn't tweeted AT ALL since Saturday afternoon. Likewise, he hasn't posted any recent stories on the Sun Sentinel. Anyone know anything about this radio silence and whether it relates to his social media indiscretion?

I would say hopefully he got fired, but I am not that lucky.

Doubt anything significant has happened to him.

Not to start a firestorm or anything, but since Saturday I haven't seen any Tweets or articles from Aaron Hernandez, Joseph Stalin or Blackbeard....coincidence?!??!?!?

This week might be the most popular week for vacations, I think we are reading too much into this.

I wouldn't get too excited. Even if he gets fired, he'll be replaced by someone who likely is just as bad. The problem is that these media outlets can't afford to pay someone of high-quality.

i dont think that this was a big deal to get him fired, that doesn't mean i can still hope though

It's only been 2 days....

I just started on Twitter and had to unfollow him after like a day because of all the relentlessly dumb non-football ****. It seems plausible he got his pee-pee whacked for doing something stupid.

Media (television, radio, and newspaper) survive on advertising dollars. Better ratings means more demand which means more money. Omar has a loyal following and those that really dislike him still read his articles anyways. -

Has anyone ever shot a gun at a man with the intent to change the man's life for the better?

I learned how to fire weapons with the intent to harm someone. It was at the request of some gentleman named Sam, but I swear he was not a relative.Larryfinfan, DrAstroZoom and TiP54 like this. -

It's a hell of a thing, killin' a man. Take away all he's got, and all he's ever gonna have.

I've soured on Omar a lot this offseason. He really needs to get off his high horse already. He acts like we should feel privileged to read his views on football and life. I used to find him kind of amusing and slightly entertaining, but now he just acts like an entitled know-it-all.
With that being said, I think the controversial tweet was blown out of proportion. He's a dope for saying it, but I don't actually believe he pulled out and gun and actually tried to kill someone.
Hell, he was probably talking about playing GTA or something. -

I read his stuff and about half the time he has good info. The other half is just pure nonsense. He seems to enjoy his own company quite a bit. If you follow him on twitter 3/4's of his tweets are some sort of ego driven drivel that he tries to pass off as wisdom. Quite bizarre. Some of it is amusing, but most of it is just annoying.

Some sportswriters' Twitter accounts enhance their work (Peter King is a great follow); others, not so much.
