Most of the predictions I saw in the preseason pegged us at 4-6 wins. We already have 4. What did you REALLY expect with a rookie QB (who I think is the real deal), no playmakers, a lame duck GM and a rookie HC???
Superbowl???
Tannehill needs at least ONE playmaker, ONE guy who knows how to block and ONE guy who can run the ball. Get those pieces in place and he will be a probowler, unless the pro bowl goes away.
Anyhow, that's my .02!

If your team plays hard, disciplined and physical, and you lose, ok, you can see more clearly where the holes are..when your team poops all over the field with incompetence and no spirit, then there are a lot more questions.

Everyone is so mad I think because of the decent start this team had, and how weak our division, and the AFC in general is perceived to be this year, people bought into the hype that we were a playoff team. We had a shot based on our record at the time, and the team has come out flat the last two games, and to be quite honest embarassed themselves. That, combined with what I suspect is most people now realizing and beginning to see the lack of talent we have at key positions on this roster, still, after 5 years of our roster builder and talent evaluater being here.

Generally speaking, people are mad for plenty of reasons. Most of them personal, some football-related and most likely due to unfounded expectations.

IMO, what's heightening people's anger is the quick, steep regression this team has appeared to make. People might be a bit more even keel if we had lost to a NE and Seattle or SF. But losing to and looking offensively inept against two teams (Tennessee and Buffalo) who have shown they'd have a hard time stopping Rutgers is like getting kicked in the nuts just for good measure.

I think if you really look at it few of us are actually "mad". We all come to this board to vent, debate, commiserate, and discuss Dolphin football. Sometimes what we type here paints a picture of angry rabid fans who are unable to cope with life. About 5 minutes into the 2nd half I resigned myself to the fact Miami was going to lose. I didn't lose any sleep. Today I'm perfectly happy. Bummed Miami lost but it doesn't affect my day.

12 days ago Miami was 4-3, on a 3 game winning streak, playing disciplined team ball and would have qualified as a wildcard had the season been over....3 losses later with lackluster play by multiple players just human nature to be frustrated.

What makes me upset isn't the fact it looks like I am going to be right about the number of wins this team will have this year. What upsets me is the thought that Ireland may still be around after this season to screw up the 2013 draft.
If Ireland is fired, I will be happy to accept that this team is in another rebuilding mode and the next GM may take a couple of years to get the players he wants to build this team for the future. I just think keeping Ireland will cause this team to remain mediocre and it will only prolong the rebuilding process for the new GM when he is finally hired in a few years. -

Only really upset because for the first time in a long while, we were playing smart football and getting better each week. Now, We have taken a huge leap back. It's not fair to tease fans of a struggling franchise with success only to smash it into a million pieces. Had these games been closely fought and well played, it would not be this bad. These players have shown that they can be at least competent. The last two weeks they have played as if they have never played a football game in their lives.
-
Most I would say are upset because they want something better than what has been put out on the field for the past to many years. We know the team is not ready to take the next step and it is frustating waiting another year.
I will always be a Phin fan but it comes with realization that we need more time and players.
And yes ,I too again drank the Kool-Aid and began to imagine this year coulda, shouda, woulda been different but
the fact is the Dolpins are not a good football team(still).
Next year I will return for more Kool-Aid I am imagine,I think I am addicted. -
The Tennesee game was a huge dissapointment but I treated it like a bad dream. I thought for sure we would snap back into it and beat the Bills, but no!
Most of us saw these 3 games as W's, what happened was a slap in the face! -
Why are we mad? Really? Because we F**king suck!!! AGAIN!!! /shakes head

I'm not really angry - this is what I expected them to be before the season began.
And, its clear they have weaknesses along the OL and at WR on offense (as well as some bad running but that is also, in part, a function of bad blocking). -

What will you do with yourself when Jeff is no longer in Miami? -
I agree that 24-34 is about right for this team over the past three and a half years. I just don't think it is all because of the QB situation. I think they have this record because they just don't have a lot of talent throughout the roster. That, I blame entirely on Ireland. -
As far as the 2012 draft goes, I think Martin will be a journeyman offensive lineman in the NFL in the years ahead. I don't ever see him being a top tier offensive lineman. I think Egnew will be out of the league or playing somewhere else very soon.
I thought Miller was a great pick in the later rounds. The fact he can't get on the field, while the Dolphins have had no success in the running game recently is a major concern, in my opinion. I haven't given up on him, but I still think the Dolphins need to upgrade their RB position after this season.
Vernon has been a decent special teams player and has made a few plays on defense. I watched him for three years at UM and I never saw him as a consistent player on defense. I don't think he will be a pass rusher in the NFL and I think the Dolphins need a definite upgrade at the DE position opposite Wake. Vernon is not this upgrade.
Kaddu is at the bottom of the 53 man roster and I don't see him being much of a factor going forward.
Cunningham was cut and Matthews played okay in preseason, but I don't see him as anymore than a 4th or 5th WR on the Dolphins in the future. That is if he is even on the roster next year when hopefully WR's will be added to the roster in an attempt to upgrade this position.
Randall seems to be a decent backup, but I don't see him ever becoming a defensive force in the NFL. He is what he is, a 7th or 8th defensive lineman who will be a backup during his NFL career, which will probably be relatively short.
This draft was all about Tannehill and until he actually has talent around him on offense, we have no way of judging if he will be an effective NFL QB or not.
You believe Ireland is the right man to rebuild this team. I don't. I think the team needs a GM who actually knows how to build a winning organization. You want to take the view that Ireland had nothing to do with the drafts and free agents signings while Parcells was here. That is your right. I just don't see much talent coming to the team in the two years Ireland has had complete control of the player personnel decisions. I also hold him responsible for his first three years as the teams GM, whether Parcells was here or not.
