When that is official Ross has managed to break my heart and forced me to quit the Dolphins -

I have no issues. In a vacuum with perfect players his system is great. Football isn't played in a vacuum. As an OC you need to find a way to enhance your ingredients so that the ingredients you don't have aren't as prominent.
I feel like Sherman was unable to scheme around our flaws and was highly predictable. When I can guess run/pass before the snap based on down and distance you sure as hell know the defense can too.cuchulainn, PapaC, cdz12250 and 1 other person like this. -

In 30 years its quite possible we are telling Patriot fans it doesn't matter what they did in the past, just as we are told that now. -

Sherman was part of the problem, the whole predictable snap count thing and vanilla playcalling did him in. Hope to God Ireland is next.

Thank you! Sherman is a good man but he had to go. I wish him the best going forward.

Wait, how is this possible if Sherman was running the team?

I agree with this move. Like I posted before I think Sherman more than Ireland is the top weakness and Philbins loyalty to Sherman was holding the team back. On any other team, Lamar Miller would have 600 Yds receiving and 800 yds rushing. Our play design, from the snap count and cadance, to the WRs routes, to the plays called and lack of plays called, are all high school level.
Criticizing Ireland before Jamar Taylor and Dion Jordans development and Wheeler and Elerbees first year in the system is pre mature. Had Patterson held up, we would not have had Carroll in the secondary and that alone would have probably been enough to get us in the playoffs.rafael likes this. -

Let's make another "tweak" thinking it will mean dramatic improvement , we'll bank on that , one more year is all we need , this time next year we'll be preparing for our first game in the playoffs at home , you'll see .....

I'm glad Mike Sherman was fired. He was a huge issue.
But, I still have very little faith this is going to work...
From reports, we have a coach that has tension with our GM and he didn't want to fire his mentor. Yet, we have decided to keep both Ireland & Philbin. Again, how in the world can we think this is going to work?PhinsRDbest, ASOT and FinSane like this. -

I think that wonderful Vince 'strut' gif created by JT is applicable here. I honestly cannot fathom how Ireland appears to have survived an axing.

Sherman "removed" as OC....does that leave the possibility of him staying on staff in another capacity. I wouldn't mind it.

Apparently not. -
And Turner?

I've posed this question many times, and someone may have posted the answer. If so, I'll be looking for it and I'd appreciate if you have it.
When has a team kept everyone in tact, after losing seasons, only fired an OC and had success?ASOT likes this. -

Hilarious if we promoted Jim Turner or Zac Taylor.

So good luck on getting anyone worth anything, remember we could only get Daboll the last time we did this. How did that work out ? Oh started the season 0-7.......
