-Loss in week 18 moved the pick up several positions.
-I think our biggest and most glaring need is obviously Offnsive Line. After that it would probably be Defensive back or Defensive Tackle. Would be great to land a young anchor on the OL.
-Seems to be a very strong/deep draft for Edge rushers. But I Can’t see us going back to another EDGE, since Chop looks good.
A couple waaayyyy too early mock drafts;

We'll need to invest a lot of capital into the OL. Hopefully Armstead retires and we do not retain all of our free agent guards. Here's to getting two compensatory 3rd round picks, we need them.
Haven't seen a good multi round mock yet that addresses our most glaring needs.resnor likes this. -

There's something warm, fuzzy and reassuring about seeing a graphic of a number 13 next to a Dolphins logo.

It's kick the cap can down the road again and be delusional about the roster. This was always my worst fear with the extensions. Tannehill II. Good enough to not draft highly, but bad enough to not make playoffs/do anything if you get there. -
Grier said "we are going to have to invest in the offensive line. We are older there now." Grier and Armstead will have more conversations; already had one. "This is the time to start investing in some offensive linemen."

How many missed TE blocks were a result of the inept oline doing the wrong thing? I obviously don't know, but I don't think we should be drawing conclusions about TEs and their blocking without knowing that about the oline.texanphinatic and dolphin25 like this. -
IMO, OG is too high at 13 and a TE is ranked #1b in need (with OG being 1a). However, if Warren is there at 13, and the Dolphins haven't already traded down, he should 100% be their pick. There's an argument for Malaki Starks here, but I'm tired of not fixing the offensive issues. I wouldn't be angry with Starks, I'm sure come draft time I'd be elated with him because he's such a great prospect, but I want Warren.
I'm not sure if you've watched much of Warren, but just know that he's getting Gronk, Kelce, and Whitten comps. He's that good.
As for OG's, there are a number of really good ones projected to go mid to late 2nd round and later. I'm not sure any will go round #1, but you never know. Teams reach all the time. We should be able to get one (maybe 2) of these guys in the later rounds. The combine may change these projections too, of course.Csonka Marino and resnor like this. -

So yeah, ideally, our TEs need to be able block, but I would rather get the oline effective before looking at TE, if that is possible.dolphin25 likes this. -
That’s why I say the pick might make more sense for us cause he can help us in multiple ways.
in the line for blocking
short yardage as he has 200 yards rushing this year.
And very talented receiver with great hands.
like I said I don’t know if there will be a better olineman than him at 13, someone who has a high floor like this but we’ll see who drops to us.
Theres a lot of lineman in this draft it seems so I think the battle is d tackle, Oline, safety and Warren.
Let’s see if those guys at those other positions who Might be available at 13 measure up to the safe pick with good upside like Warren -

We might be looking at more (compensatory) picks:

Not sure how much influence Reggie has, but it could be addition by subtraction in the front office as well.dolphin25 likes this. -

If the team intentionally low balls an offer and the player is traded, then the team would be at fault…unless that was the team’s underlying strategy to trade a player and get a comp pick.
Taking Wilkins for example. The Dolphins offered what they deemed was a fair contract to Wilkins in 2023 but he declined it. He played his a$$ off, felt he was deserving of MORE money and the team wasn’t willing to go that high. So who’s to blame? Wilkins for refusing the Dolphins initial offer prior to 2023 and demanding more for 2024…or the team for not offering more for 2023 and their refusal to give in to Wilkins’ demand? -
I felt Allar played poorly all night. He was shaky and uncomfortable from the first drive. He's likely to be a first round pick next year but that game will give some GMs a reason to pause on selecting him

Most of the Super Bowl winners in recent years have good TEs. I believe we need one for sure. Loveland and a second round tackle are fine. Many teams have drafted good tackles after the first round.
