I could very well live with that, I do think we need O-Line, but Ingram is going to be a star.

10. Redskins -- Cam Newton*, QB, Auburn
Mike Shanahan loves mobile quarterbacks, like John Elway, Jake Plummer and Donovan McNabb. He also loves QBs with big arms like Elway, McNabb and Jay Cutler. Newton is both. And we think Daniel Snyder can get over the character questions. The big question about Newton is how he'll fare away from a spread offense. If Tim Tebow can go in the first round, Newton will too.

I'd rather take a QB if a good one is available at that pick. You can get a starting RB later, but starting QBs go quick.

Can we just draft a playmaker..please?

Go ahead and draft the best o-lineman...Unless a QB drops. No Locker.
-
I love the ingram pick. I hope it happens.
-
I'm perfectly fine with that. I want a RB or an OL.

-
90% of the mock drafts out there have us taking Ingram.

depends on what they do with the interior before I get excited about that. but he has a chance to be special. theres really no qb I can be comfy with at 15. maybe Gabbert.

RB is such a wasted pick in round 1. Dime a dozen position in today's NFL.

the guy I want is Leon Washington. solves the return game and hopefully can provide some 3rd down plays as well.

IMO Ross knows that this fan base and ownership wants a playmaker in here. He also knows that playmakers generate more revenue. I'm sure he's familiar with the response Dez has received in Dallas verse Odrick in Miami. Grrrrr. Therefore, I don't see us using a #1 pick on any QB who would sit for the first year, especially if Morano is still the coach. Right now I'd have to say the 3 front runners are Justin Blackmon, Julio Jones, and Ingram b/c these guys will create a spark to the offense that fans want to see (with Ingram being the fallback pick if the others are gone).

NFLDraftDog has us taking CAM NEWTON:

NFLDraftCountdown also has us taking CAM NEWTON: (but with the 18th pick, I think they meant 15th).

I hope not .He is no better than RB and RW IMO .As bad as the Gators were this year they were able to stop him by lining up big linemen on the front seven and in the NFL they are all big .At least Ronnie can break through some of those tackles .
And he does not have the breakaway speed that we need.We can get another good back later in the draft .TotoreMexico, Ophinerated, Muck and 2 others like this. -

Please no. IMO he is just like RB and RW. I say either oline or qb. I'd love to trade for Leon Washington. He's underused in Seattle. I also wouldn't mind Julio Jones. Marshall and jones with bess in the slot could be deadly with the right qb

The three guys I would not mind at #15 if they are available: Mark Ingram, Ryan Williams, and Julio Jones. I doubt Jones would be there and I feel like Ryan Williams can fall to late 1st, possibly early 2nd.
All I know is, I want us to trade back into the 2nd round and be able to pick up one of those three in the 1st, as well as drafting another playmaker in the 2nd. In the 3rd, I want noone other than DJ Williams. Then, we can start filling in interior OLine, possibly another RB, ILB, etc...later on in the draft.
Man, that would be a hell of a draft. Ryan Williams/Mark Ingram, Ryan Broyles/Ronald Johnson, and DJ Williams in 3 rounds? Someone make me GM of the Dolphins. Idk about Xs and Os, but I can sure as hell make this team at least exciting and fun to watch. -

this regime has yet to draft a playmaker on the offensive side in 3 yearsRicky'sBong likes this. -
I love this notion that the league is filled with successful late-round backs. I look around the league, and I see a whole lot of backs that were drafted in the 1st or first half of the 2nd round. Am I just crazy or something?

Don't you get it?
There is a reason the top ten rushers in the league consist mostly of late rd picks, if they were even picked at all. -

2010: 4 out of 10 were 1st round picks
2009: 6 out of 10 were 1st round picks
2008: 5 out of 10 were 1st round picks
2007: 7 out of 10 were 1st round picks
Now, that's just 1st round picks. I could add in 2nd and even 3rd round picks (considering you specifically stated "late rd picks") and make your statement look even more ridiculous. I'm not sure if you just grew up in a region of the country that uses the word "mostly" a little more loosely than everyone else, but I'm not quite sure I'm seeing your point at all. Please feel free to enlighten me.Ricky'sBong likes this. -
whatever is deemed the best "playmaker" at 15 is all I want. to me guys like Mallet, Locker and Gabbert cant step in right away.
-
I know "day 1" (formerly) picks typically are in the top 10 in rushing, that's why I made the comment I did. Same with naming the only late picks I could think of off the top of my head that are really worth a damn.Frayser likes this. -
