"I don’t know if that’s any indication of the way the rest of the league sees Anquan," Graves said. "I just think that there is time between now and draft day. Many teams have been finishing up the draft boards."
The Cardinals denied reports they are asking for first and third-round picks in return for Boldin. "We haven’t specified what we’re looking for, or anything along those lines," said Graves.

Nothing really said here, other than "we never fully said what we're asking for"

I would trade Brown, Ginn, and a 2nd for Boldin, Edge and a 4th.
-
That's our best offensive weapon, our big play and potentially big time receiver, and an important draft pick. I'd love to have Boldin but that's way too much and Edge isn't the same player he was.PENNSYLVANIADOLPHAN, opfinistic, Xeticus and 7 others like this. -
Would be a terrible trade for a Back that when healthy is a top 10 RB in the league. We would be trading the former first round picks Reviver to that is ready fro a breakout season for a soone to be 29 yr old WR with a bad hip and injury prone due to the way he plays. Not to mention Edge will be released before training camp and we could get him for slightly more than vet minumum. Come on now :knucks:

Come on guys, lets use our common sense here, If Anquan can do anything to make arizona want less, in return being traded to the dolphins, he would, i gurantee it..
And if ronnie brown is even mentioned in the trade, iam takin my avatar down.opfinistic, dolphinfn3454, Tone_E and 3 others like this. -
I guess if they want Brown that bad we can trade Ronnie for Boldin and their #1
skippysphins, Fin-Omenal and Dolphin1184 like this. -

What do the Cards want?
Here is a list of the Cardinals' top three needs:
Running back: With Edgerrin James likely to be released, the Cardinals need a back to pair with Tim Hightower. They need some speed at the position.
Outside linebacker: Three of the team's top four outside linebackers are over 30 and there is a dearth of young players ready to take over.
Tight end: The Cardinals have been searching for a great tight end for two decades now. The search continues.
according to their needs and what we have to offer (player-wise), the only trades that would make sense is Ronnie or Fasano and a pick. (maybe one of our 2nd round picks.) -

Wow, I can't believe that some really feel that either a) Boldin is that good and would make our team that much better as to overcome the loss of Brown or b) that Brown is that 'worthless' to us ?? I would suggest that watching some film of Brown would change your opinions.
Man, I like the prospect of getting a Boldin, but not at the cost of what we know. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you all are closet Cards fans with that trade scenario...cnc66, Tone_E, Fin D and 1 other person like this. -

If they did do that, I would want to put that pic. of Florida that you have in your avatar, to my head. ;)Rocky Raccoon likes this. -
I have seen a report floating on the net suggesting either of the two following scenarios for Boldin.
Ravens send McGahee and Heap straight up for Boldin.
Dolphins send Ronnie Brown straight up for Edgerrin James and Boldin.GISH likes this. -
what is important is what the Front Office thinks:
1) Parcells has always been able to find both WR's & RB's in the mid to later rounds.
2) He appears to be very fond of Williams (for whatever reason) & for whatever reason, not very impressed with Brown as a potential Franchise RB for the team.
3) The TriFecta has made it abundantly clear that all players have a price tag during the rebuilding of the team.
anything could happen. the Cardinals need a proven RB, they have their eyes on another SuperBowl in 09. Boldin would be an excellent fit in our young stable.
got to remember there are a number of excellent WR's available in the draft & we have time to develop them. usually takes a couple of years to bring a receiver along in the NFL.
also, our current stable is very talented & could step up big time this season.
personally, I think we have a tremendous running game behind an emerging offensive line. The Tandem from Hell should burn up the turf behind the Orca-5 & a bird in the hand is worth three in the bush. we should know by the weekend. -
Brown for the Edge and Boldin I'd take in a second. I love R. Brown, but put me on the list of people who see the running back position as a dime a dozen. You can get nearly the same productivity from about 20 other backs IMO.
Just look at how well Cobbs did when he was in. I saw almost no drop-off at all. -
Ronnie Brown brings so much more to our team then just running the football. You saw just like I did what he can do for our offense when giving the opportunity. He's a nightmare for opposing defenses and coaches, and that's a well known fact around NFL locker rooms. Whether it's taking the wildcat formation and running it successfully to a point where there were other teams putting it into their playbooks, or catching the ball out of the backfield, running defenders over, or picking up blocks. He does it all, and those things are not a dime a dozen.
I personally feel like there has been a major amount of disrespect towards Ronnie Brown on this board the past week or so, and that really bothers me.Wayne Kjelsrud, RevRick, cnc66 and 7 others like this. -
If no terms have been discussed up to this point its likely that all the talks have been preliminary up to this point .Nothing in the works....yet

I really don't see it happening. Our RB Stable is one of the best in the NFL & the Orca-5 should provide the push they need to get started. W/O the running game, our passing game will suffer, with or w/o Boldin. I would be very surprised if there were a deal to remove Ronnie from the roster.
Having said that: anything is possible w/Bill Parcells in the middle of a Rebuilding Project. -
-
Ronnie has the opportunity to be THE premier RB in the entire league this coming year.
I personally hope he is still a Dolphin when this happensXeticus, cnc66, DOLPHAN1 and 1 other person like this. -
Boldin is a great player but ronnie is better and younger, boldin will not make us SB contenders anyways, young talent will in time, if we rush it now and trade away our talent/picks we are only hurting ourselves.
Also, boldin will want big money soon, there is no reason for that being spent on one player, we have too many needs. I say draft nicks if we dont want mack, if nicks isn't there grab english.cnc66 and azfinfanmang like this. -

Ginn and a 4th for boldin, sounds fair.

Don't get me wrong though, I like Ronnie Brown and I think he's a great player and a great character guy and his pass blocking is spectacular.
However we must agree to disagree because there's obviously two camps here: Those that think an elite WR > elite RB and those that think elite RB > elite WR. Therefore, it's nothing against Ronnie Brown personally. I just think that finding a great Running Back is a lot easier than finding a great wideout -
-
Why? That doesn't make sense. Now if they wanted to work a deal that included Boldin and Ginn with some type of combo of picks, sure. I would do that. But what I don't get is why so many are willing to trade Brown. He has been playing fine considering he hasn't had an oline, came off a serious knee injury and is playing in his third offense going into his 4th season. All of that has to slow the development of any player. Same goes for Ginn, he played in 2 different offenses in his first 2 season, the first without a QB to speak of and last year, near the end, our WR corp was really banged up making it easy for teams to double cover him. Few WRs will find success in that, especially young ones. Ginn showed improvement last year, there is no doubt about that. Brown will continue to get better, now healthy with a line built to block. We couldn't run in the middle, have to think Samson was in part responsible for that.
I just get the feeling at times that too many people think that there is a quick fix solution for what has ailed this team for nearly a decade before last season. You don't just trade away your better guys hoping that the guy you bring in will be better. Boldin isn't going to solve our problems in the pass game single handedly. Edge will be a step back in our running game, we then would have two older RBs.mullingan likes this. -
Brown for Boldin? We are going to be a power run first offense, you don't trade away a top RB especially now that he will actually have a line in front of him to block. And then we drop back in the first round by 6-7 spots?
With all due respect to those who think Brown is expendable, what are you smoking? Can the desire and yearning for a top WR be a left over from the air attack days of Marino?
We must be a power run offense first and foremost, especially when considering that Henne will likely be our starter in 2010. We can't be a pass run offense with a kid getting his first starts, that would be a disaster. We have to take pressure OFF of him by establishing that we are going to pound the snot out of a defense on the ground, giving him time to get accustomed to the NFL game.mullingan likes this. -

I swear madden is the bane of bulletin boards and Lombardi is an ***. All this stupid talk of dime a dozen means short memories or are just too young to remember us floundering around for twenty years without a decent running back... and now just for the sport of it, you want to trade one of the premier running backs in all of football today.. just like you were playing madden arrrrgggg

Im sorry but this is simply NOT a winning situation for our team. Makes no sense on so many levels. -
i think the majority agree that they want Boldin on this team, we just disagree on how to do it. The Cardinals are also in desperate need for a TE. what if we deal fasano and a pick or 2 for Boldin

Quite a few teams have called but we have no offers," Graves said. "Anything can evolve from this point through draft day." The Cardinals think trade talk could heat up before the draft this weekend, and Graves laughed when he was asked whether the lack of offers meant that no one had even tried to low ball the Cardinals.
