Scouting the Dolphins
Linebacker Akin Ayodele was the only Dolphin listed on last week's injury report and he played. Coach Joe Sparano did not discuss any new injuries Tuesday, according to a team transcript of his Q&A with reporters.

Chargers aren't that good (yet), Turner says
“After two games I don't think right now we're as good as you that cover us think or expect us to be,” Turner said without being asked a question. “I don't think we're as good as what our fans want us to be. But I believe we can get there. We have a lot of work to do to get there.” -

2,500 tickets left for Miami
The Chargers have announced that "nearly 2,500 tickets" must be sold to lift the Southern California TV blackout for Sunday's game against Miami. -
I'm really forward to this weekend. I'm over with what happened last night and it's time to move on. I've already got my board set up, (I have a board with all the games and what channels they are on). With 5 tv's, I need to be able to move games around.

Win or lose, should be an exciting game......
Me?.......I wanna see MO WILDCAT! -
I'm over the Monday night game now and want to start talking Chargers. The trip out to the west coast will make things tougher then it normally would.
Expect to see great success in the run game again.Sceeto likes this. -
When was the last time Miami lost to SD?

But for the love of god we have GOT to keep Gates under wraps. We gotten murdered by TEs in the first 2 games, and now comes all pro #3.gafinfan likes this. -
i probably should be excited but I'm not. If we win we're back in the hunt but if we lose we're pretty much out. I just dont have a good vibe about the game. I dont think we'll have an answer for Darren Sproles

Interestingly, the Chargers return game is ranked #1 in the NFL, Sproiles is killing teams on kick off returns (the Jets are #2 BTW).
I've got a better vibe for this game than I did for the Colts game, to me the Bolts weakness on Defense matches up with our strength on offense.
The question for us then becomes how does our weaknesses on defense match up with their strengths on offense?
To me, it would depend, do we keep Wilson at Safety? A better cover safety would cure alot of woes. -
ravens defense is alooottttt better than ours. their biggest strength is our biggest weakness (mlb and safety)
and they gave up 26 points and 436 yards passing to rivers with 2 tds.
this game scares the piss out of me. our defense better lock upFrumundah Finnatic, cnc66 and adamprez2003 like this. -

for us to win this game I think we are going to have to create turnovers. I think we need at least a +2 in the turnover department to have a shot. Sean Smith on Vincent Jackson may give us an opportunity or two. Do we activate Wake to have him in on some 3rd down plays? I dont see how we stop Darren Sproles right now so hopefully we can contain him. Antonio Gates will have his catches but probably will be more similar to Gonzalez rather than Clark. On offense we will have a rough day relying solely on the run game which means we will have to put it on Pennington's shoulders. Special teams are probably worth at least a touchdown for the chargers. i see us having a really tough time there. So in the end we have to get turnovers

But the center of the their D has been hollowed out with the loss of Jamal Williams and an injury to his replacement, add in Travis Johnson (ex Texan) has a bad groin and poor safeties and we have a run the ball cake waiting to be baked.
Bolts special teams are top notch, their offense runs hot and cold, let's not forget that the Raiders gave the Chargers all they could handle. -

I easily see back to back 100 yarders for Ronnie, and quite possibly 300-325 in 2 games.
That being said, we have no chance in a shootout. -
This isn't as scary a matchup as some are making it out to be imo.
Chargers are beat up on both lines and have a weak defense. If Miami can get a good pass rush this week it will solve the problems most are worried about in the passing game. Another thing I don't think you can overlook is the fact SD as a team got the crap beat out of them physically by the Ravens and are undoubtedly still sore. Phillip Rivers may have gotten the worst of it. -
Yet they handled the Bolts. -

Our offense will be fine
Our defense on the other hand has been exposed for what it is, and exactly what everyone else has posted (we can't cover tight ends, and we have lapses in tackling on screens). To sum up this is what our defense will likely look like (triple "L" consonance...suck it!):
-
Imo the reason why we match up with the chargers so well the past couple of years is because of imo, Phillip rivers {believe it or not}, his average arm gives us a chance to close the gap on receivers, a gap that were usually a fraction behind in. -
Chargers lose Hardwick.

Now in game adjustments, that is another ball of wax, but preperation wise they have gotten it done.
Sproles offers a real challenge on special teams and he and Gates offer challenges as receivers, that is what makes the NFL great though.
BTW...two games, two near picks by Sean Smith, I think he gets one this week.Fin Fan In Cali likes this. -
