Absolutely. He wants people to react to his takes. If Tua continues on his current pace and wins a playoff game, Cowherd would be the first one to blast the organization for letting him go. And the arm strength argument has already been put to rest. If his arm isn't the strongest in the league, it's cool because it's clearly strong enough. When people make that argument, ask them to quantify what they consider to be a strong arm and when they do, suggest they give examples about how/when that attribute contributed to winning. Bombs are the least accurate passes in football and the longer the throw, the less accurate it becomes.

But you can't convince some people that they're wrong and he's exhibit A to prove it.

 

Tua will make any weapon better, because his arm is so consistently innately accurate, its always gonna be the quickest release in the game, and the touch for which he throws at all levels anyone can catch.these are the nuances of the positiin that fols like cowturd cannot evaluate.you have to actually know what to look for and see it the right way, in isolation.

just run your damn route at the right depth and you better be looking for the ball, like for real, thats all tua needs from you as a weapon, fast or slow he will elevate your game.

I was never a fan, but once he started openly admitting that he's opposed to parity and only wants the biggest, most popular teams to win, I turned him off and never went back. He sees sports exclusively through the lense of ratings and money.

Nick Wright inherited the Skip Bayless gene and not only is he prone to make erroneous statements, he's incapable of admitting how wrong he was once it becomes obvious. Cowherd, Wright, and Skip are the reason why I stopped watching Fox Sports panel talk shows. Hot takes are only hot if they're right; otherwise, they're just bull****. There's a ton of bull**** being delivered daily on Fox Sports.

 

There always was, long before Cowherd moved there from ESPN. Unlike most others, they were that way long before Twitter.

 

Really can’t argue with any of these critics until we do something. It seems like we’ve made the next level leap but also haven’t beaten anyone with a winning record. This Sunday will be very telling whether we belong in the top 5-10 or not.

 

Until we win some playoff games, we’re still the same old dolphins team that occasionally gets some hype but never does anything with it.

Just so this is clear: the last time we had even a top 10 offense by points scored was 2001!!! We're #1 right now. Even worse: the average ranking of our offense from 2002-2022 is 21.4!! Also, the last time we had a QB end a season #1 in passer rating prior to Tua was Marino in 1984. Need I go on? This is NOT the same old Dolphins team. Certainly not statistically.

 

None of that matters if we don’t win playoff games. Stats are great but meaningless if you can’t hold them against the top teams you play.

 

How do you know we're not going to win a playoff game this year? Why not complain about that after we crash out in the playoffs in round 1.. IF that happens. Point is, right now we are NOT the same old Dolphins.

 

I can’t predict the future. I’m just saying none of those stats or all this hype matters if we’re like every other Miami team that has done Jack s*** and not won playoff games over the last 20 years. If you have a crystal ball and know they’re going to win games, I’m willing to listen.

 

Except that the stats are different than in the past. You're acting like everything this year is like the last 20 years. That part is demonstrably false, so you can't just project what happened in the last 20 years to this year. Seriously, this year's stats (and part of last year's) look like a statistical anomaly compared to the last 20 years! So don't act like it's the same.

Point is, no need to **** on the team until they fail. Can we at least wait for them to fail before crapping on a team that is 6-2 with 92% chance of making the playoffs, 67% chance of winning the division and 21% chance of a first round bye, at least based on some simulators?

Let me just say this. It sounds a lot different if you say this year so far IS different, but it doesn't mean anything if we don't win playoff games. That's a lot easier to agree with than saying "until we win playoff games we're the same". We are NOT the same right now.

 

I really don’t care how this year is different until we win anything. At this point we’ve put up great stats against bad teams but have looked like s**t against the only 2 good teams we’ve played. If we beat KC, that will be a good sign. But until we win playoff games, I’m going to keep my expectations reserved.

It must be really hard to be a fan and take zero enjoyment from actually watching the team play. This is the best Dolphins team in the standings, in the stat sheet, and with the eyeball test in at least 20 years. That's well over 300 regular season games since we've gotten to be in this position!

I'm going to soak it up, and then we'll see what happens in the playoffs. If the Fins can earn the #1 or #2 seed in the AFC, then I think that we finally have a really good chance in the divisional round this year, regardless of who we face.

If we have to go on the road to face a team in the cold, then its bad news. The Dolphins franchise has never won an outdoor road playoff game in January, and unless they get to play in warm weather, that's probably never going to change. IMO, you just have to accept and live with that fact in order to be a Dolphins fan.

 

Unless something catastrophic happens, the Dolphins are going to finish this season with a winning record for the 4th year in a row…and make the playoffs 2 years in a row.

Now granted, I’ll give it to you. We do have to WIN a playoff game but the needle is pointed in the right direction.

Who cares about the playoffs in week 9? Seriously, we might all be dead before the next game. All we know is what we have seen. If you're so focused on the future that you can't appreciate the present, why don't you sit out the season and come back to either celebrate or complain when you see how it played out?

 

I love the dolphins and love what’s happening this year. But I can’t blame critics for doubting us when our wins are against teams that are 11-27 and the 2 teams that have winning records beat us pretty soundly.

 

The Dolphins destroyed teams that beat the best teams in the league. The schedule and records of teams you play is just mumbo jumbo.

 

I can blame the critics for not using the same standard to judge everybody.

 

And for not applying the logic in reverse.

Lose to two of the best teams in the league, and you're a fraud.


Lose to a couple of bad teams, and its completely forgotten, so long as you beat good ones.

Fins or anyone else, I think choking against the bad teams is the far bigger embarrassment.

 

So you shouldn't bother watching games against teams with losing records because they don't matter. Sounds right.

 

I get the criticism but I’m smart enough to look past that when folks say Miami can’t win against winning teams.

We lost to Buffalo in Buffalo. Division games are ALWAYS difficult games…and if Buffalo is indeed THAT GOOD of a team, wouldn’t it be expected the home team to win that game? If they are indeed THAT good?

Losing to Philadelphia? Let’s not be so narrow sighted. We lost that game as it was a 2 on 1 match up…the Dolphins against the Eagles AND the officials. That game was an embarrassment. Had the officials called that game right down the middle, there’s a good chance the outcome could have favored the Dolphins.

So the Dolphins can’t win against good teams? Yes they can…and have. I’m more than confident we’re going to split with the Bills…just like last year. And tomorrow the Chiefs are going to be suffering from jet lag just like the Bills did against Jacksonville.

 

There’s an adage in sports to have a successful season…

“Win the games you’re supposed to win and a couple of the games you’re not”

What happens come playoff time when the Chiefs lose the #1 seed by ONE game? Had they won against the Broncos that would have made the difference.

If the Dolphins win all of the games we’re SUPPOSED to win and none of the games we’re not, we’re still going to finish the season 13-4.

 

Every team has at least 2 loses. Why doesn't losing to bad teams count more than losing to good ones? I just don't get it. This progression of cannot win against winning teams/big games/in the play offs/Championships a silly troupe. It's true until it isn't. (unless, you're the Bills in the 90s.) It was applied to Peyton Manning. Drew Brees sucked come play off time for years. Steve Young lead the league in passer rating across 3 years yet fans/media said he couldn't win a championship. I can absolutely blame the critics. Process matters. Miami could lose to KC and in a few weeks the Chargers and Broncos could both be winning teams. Would that change anything about the Dolphins?
