Mtn from Mole Hill material.
Utter crap, did Starks and Wallace give 100%, were they prepared to play in the win?
Yep, small wonder they have little time or use for the media.Aquafin, HULKFish, MikeHoncho and 4 others like this. -
Did the NE media write the same articles about Belichick? These guys are upset because Philbin doesn't tell them anything.

This is all about the media wanting more to write about. Hasn't Philbin already accomplished what Dave has asked? Wallace and Starks are saying all the right things this week; thus, Philbin's approach appears to be working. Fans want winning football -- period. There's a reason NE fans adore Bellichick far more than the Boston media.

All this "drama" was created by the beat writers and their fetish for discord and negativity. I listened to the Joe Rose Show on WQAM 560 Monday morning, and without actually going at him specifically, he pretty much insinuated that Armando embellished a lot on his Wallace story.
All that crap that "Wallace was pouting in the locker room" and "he was trashing the coaches" is fabrication. Joe Rose specifically said that no media got inside the locker room before Wallace was already showered, dressed and leaving. He was standing next to all the media members when Wallace came out and they all jumped on him. Sure Wallace was not ecstatic by what transpired on Sunday, and IMHO it had more to do with him being a little embarrassed that he couldn't back up his talk and that Haden got the better of him. Anything else is just added flavor to spice up the story.
The Starks and Soliai stories are all just conjectures, assumptions and speculations.HULKFish, MikeHoncho, MrClean and 2 others like this. -
I swear that if this team wins the Super Bowl, the first article will be about impending free agents and the dismal prospects of repeating a championship

These writers are doing what they are paid to do. Should we be surprised?
Players will push the envelope, esp. the diva-type. Wallace took a step back the next day, which is a strong sign he had a talk with Philbin and Co. I take this as a positive.
Does this behavior continue? That's the real question. Let's see how this unfolds on the field. I certainly hope Wallace does not get forced the ball because his vagina hurts after ONE game. The gameplan should stay the same. Tannehill should remain steady in his reads and get the ball to the open player, not the crybaby.Hiruma78 likes this. -
So it begins again.
This has everything to do with how Philbin answered the questions about Starks in yesterday's press conference. The local guys are flexing their muscles to remind the Dolphins that they can make their lives more annoying.
Philbin was clearly annoyed by the questions at the end. And the question was absolutely stupid. Here's what happened:
http://www.miamidolphins.com/multimedia/videos/Coach_Philbin_Reviews_Sundays_Win/3a091577-041a-48db-aa8c-9437c0be3475
Around the 5 minute mark, he's asked about the Stark bird. Coach makes a clear joke that it was probably directed at him. Everyone laughs. Then he's asked if he talked to him about it. And Philbin doesn't commit to if he did or didn't. He says these are in house issues. Then at the end which looks like it has been edited, someone (I think Omar) tries to ask Joe again if the bird was for him and the staff. He's actually taken aback by the stupidity of the question and tries to laugh it off and walk away, but the the reporter pushes and Philbin annoyed says, "No." Meaning the bird had nothing to do with the staff or Starks being unhappy.
Remember it was Omar and Armando that decided the bird was Starks being upset with his contract and not starting. They came to that conclusion all on their own speculative powers.
This is the same **** these hacks pulled when other regimes had a openly hostile relationship with the local media. Its how come Ireland is the devil and magically Manning, Fisher, Flynn, Gruden & Cowher somehow all turned us down en route to joining the team. its why we had a media lovefest when Philbin came on and met with the papers in their offices. That honeymoon is over because even though Philbin treats them respectfully and gives them info, he doesn't give them juicy enough info in their opinion, so they are going to start turning on him. It will get worse before it gets better, if it even does. Even if nothing bad happens they will generate negative stories to get clicks and wave their *****.P h i N s A N i T y, maynard, Sumlit and 6 others like this. -

Perkins and Kelly were really at it. Omar did get Philbin to give additional, brief analysis on the running game issues. But I am not overly fund of their approach. However, I agree that we can choose to support or not support their contributions. It is our choice. I do miss the departed writers who I feel contributed a great deal (Ben and Jeff).

First off, I.m sorry but I don't read any of OmarKs stuff....ever. Second, I didn't get the impression that Hyde was doubting philbin'sa mo, just that these two idiots need to be dealt with. However, that does NOT mean he needs to deal with them thru the public eye...

EDIT: Here are more quotes from Starks via his Twitter:

My honest opinion of Omar, and maybe to a lesser extent Armando and Chris, is that he is not relevant. And there can be no greater sense of discontent for a writer than to cease to be relevant.

I typically like Dave Hyde, but I think his article is out in left field. The Dolphin's won, and both Wallace and Starks are saying they're ready to move forward and focus on football. Thus, right now, the only person perpetuating this "distraction" is Dave himself. I wish he'd write something football-related instead.

I'm not saying our inside sneak peek into the Dolphins organization is the end all be all, but when I read these articles about Philbin, I can't help but use HArd Knocks as a reference point. And the description of Philbin, according to these writers doesn't match up.
And even more ridiculous are the absurd criticisms.
It's Philbin's way or the highway! No ****... Is there an NFL coach in this league who allows his players to dictate to the coaching staff?
Philbin is unapproachable! Is he? I remember last year he invited any and all players to speak with him at any time. Always wanting to be called Joe. He's not Rex Ryan, going to be your best buddy, but unapproachable? I don't see it. In fact, he allowed the players to form a leadership counsel to discuss issues of the team. He seemed to actually care about their thoughts and opinions even if he didn't give into them. I still remember Ireland's reaction . He thought it was absurd and the dumbest thing he ever heard. Philbin heard them out and was flexible.
And while much has been made of he leadership counsel being elsewhere, it's important to note, that none of them were his Guys. He didnt bring them in, he inherited them from a failed regime. Those guys aren't here for plenty of reasons that likely have nothing to do with "challenging" his athority.
I can't take these articles seriously. Wake me when the media brings some substance to their stories. Then I'll be interested.Paul 13, inFINSible and Fin D like this. -

So let's get this straight. Two media members are criticizing the coach for not keeping "issues" in-house, when all that's been said publicly is Wallace is mad at himself and Starks was messing around with teammates? More ridiculousness of the South Florida media. The only "issues" were the media speculation about what Wallace said and what Starks's middle finger meant.

wouldn't flip someone the finger for it though (I hate the phrase 'the bird' where the eff did that comes from. it looks nothing like any bird) -

Deal with Starks is all business, if he does not start, he does not put up great film (fewer chances) which hurts his market value.
From a team pov, quietly Odrick is a FA as well, by splitting the snaps they effectively limit both players chances to earn a big payday in 2014 FA, if Odrick does well they can say "yeah but it was only 1 yr" if Starks does well "you are 30".
Personally, I get it is a business, if I were either one I'd GTFO of Miami asap as I'd know they'd never pay me full market value. -

They literally fabricate something, then when that thing doesn't come true, its the team's fault. See last offseason, with coaches and QBs, that they told us were all coming here and when they didn't, it was because of the team or Ireland or Ross or all 3.sports24/7 and maynard like this.
