Playoffs Are Finally Here.
First Dolphins playoff game since 2017!
Sunday January 15th @ 1 PM CBS
Buffalo weather forecast;
34 degrees
Sunny/clear
Light winds between 6-11 MPH
Looks as good as you could possibly hope for in mid January.
Early Sportbook Lines;
Buffalo -11 (-800 mny line)
Miami +11 (+550 mny line)
Over/Under 43.5
Head to Head this season;
32-29 Bills win @Buffalo (week 15)
21-19 Miami win @miami (week 3)
Miami Quarterback Updates;
Tua will be officially listed as questionable, but still not cleared to participate in any team activities. Tyreek is the only one I’ve seen speculate Tua might play:
Bridgewater will be listed as questionable, But Seems he has a very realistic chance to play based on McDaniel comments; (00:45 second mark of clip)
New Injuries from Week 18;
Shell (ankle and knee)
Mostert (Thumb)
Eichenberg (arm)
Mostert has found another gear the last 2 games and could be a big loss given we need to lean on the run game with a potential backup QB.
Have to assume 3 starting OL will be very questionable for this game. Armstead, Shell and Eichenberg.
They earned a ticket to the dance… Let’s see if they can truly shock the World.
Fins Up!

With Tua and Armstead? An interesting game, where Miami has an outside chance of pulling the upset. Without both of them, it's an ugly loss in the 35-13 range.

Sounds like Tua could possibly be in Phase III of the protocol.resnor and Pennington's Limp Arm like this. -
Buffalo 35-7 (irrespective of who plays QB)

Wonder if McDaniel actually provides some information today more than his standard.dolphin25 likes this. -

Who even knows what exactly is keeping him out? Pectoral was thought to be serious, but he has comeback and played since missing games earlier due to the pec. Now he is out again.
Might aswell just list him as; “Way to Late in the season for Terron Armstead to be available.”
Even still we desperately need him, no matter how busted he is at this point .Last edited: Jan 9, 2023mlb1399 likes this. -
Yeah. I think you won't know anything about Armstead. Even when he plays, he never practices. So he'll probably be another gametime decision.

This team is banged up but I have faith. They will compete and hopefully keep it close waiting for that Allen interception.

If on the other hand you're not into that kind of stuff, then please quit so we don't have to keep hoping for everything to be just right for you to contribute. That's the way I look at it. So assuming the medical examiner isn't flat out saying Tua can't play, Tua better play. -
Don’t think the medical staff is going to clear Tua this week. He’s legit the only shot we have at winning the game too. The more interesting thing will who we replace Boyer with and what QB is brought in to compete/be reliable when Tua inevitably gets hurt again.

And the hits keep on coming...

Another positive sign. Not saying he's close but, he's obviously been working out behind the scenes. -

Do we even trust the Offensive line to give Tua enough time at this point? I don't know...I know Thompson was under duress for the majority of the game yesterday, but there were moments where the line did give him plenty of time to get something done. He just couldn't find anyone and that is partly due to how great the Jets secondary is.
Regardless of who the quarterback is on Sunday, we're going to have to establish the run game. We seem to be able to do that in games, but then we can't complete a pass once our run game gets us into 3rd and manageable. I've noticed a trend where we get to a 3rd and 3 for example and one of our guys jumps offsides. Stupid penalties have killed a good majority of our drives this year I've noticed. In order to even have a chance in Buffalo, we have to establish the run game, and we have to play mistake free football, and we have to get our defense off the field when we get them in a 3rd and long (which does happen). This game will be all about momentum. I don't expect us to win this even with a healthy Tua and Armstead (which we don't have). I'm going to temper my expectations with this one. We literally backed our way into the playoffs, we allowed McDaniels to keep his job and most likely Sanders. That is all. I think our season ends soon, but at least we made the tournament. -

That or he was so afraid of making a mistake that he elected the shorter passes. To his credit, Skylar did play mistake free yesterday. That's always a plus...no turnovers that is.KeyFin likes this. -
I don’t think Tua will be cleared.
I think it will be either Bridgewater or Glennon.
Zero chance they trot Thompson back out in the playoffs.
He has thrown 101 attempts this season and his Rating is at 62. That is a whopping 10 points below the league Worst rating of 72 (Zach Wilson).
His longest completion and best gain is for 32 yards. And that came on a play where he was hit and accidentally completed a pass to Geisiki that was intended for another reciever.
If you remove that Geisiki accident from last weeks game, he averaged 3.9 Yards Per Attempt. Yes you read that correctly… Below 4.
And that doesn’t factor in all the delay of games and the fact he seemed mostly afraid to throw the ball, despite guys running free.
Any ball he threw that travelled more than 15 yards looked like a quacking duck.
The RB’s and skilled players ran the ball Very Well for 160 yards and 5.5 yards per rush against the Jets (Basically as good as we will ever run the ball!) No fumbles or field goal misses either. And yet we only scored a pathetic 9 points.
Now Buffalo has more tape on him too. It would only get worse if he is thrown out there again…
And for the ‘Skylar is mobile and athletic’ crowd.
He has rushed 14 times for 21 total yards (1.5 yards per carry). Also seems afraid of contact.Last edited: Jan 9, 2023Springveldt, MonstBlitz and Fireland like this. -
the down side of reaching the play offs is that it means another game with the woeful Boyer as DC.

His throw to Hill for a first down was off balance and thrown on a line.KeyFin and StaleTacos like this.
