It’s bad enough the Washington fans have to endure endless quarterback drama, and one of the less user-friendly venues in the NFL.
Or maybe it’s because of those things that Dolphins fans had a major presence at FedEx Field yesterday, with owner Stephen Ross saying he appreciated the absence of home field advantage.
“It was unbelievable,” Ross said, via Mark Maske of the Washington Post. “Wasn’t it amazing? I mean, you felt it was almost a home game. At least on our side of the ball, it was great seeing all the green there. We’ve got another away game next week. So we’ve got some challenges.”
Of course, the Dolphins are staying in state next week when they go to Jacksonville, so they’ll have a chance to have another strong contingent. But quarterback Ryan Tannehill said he was impressed with the number of Dolphins fans in D.C.
“It’s awesome,” Tannehill said. “You know, I always enjoy playing on the road and when you have the kind of fan base that we did out there today, it makes it even more enjoyable. I feel like our fans always travel well wherever we go in the NFL. I feel like we have a good number of fans. But that had to be probably the best road showing that I’ve seen from our fans.
“They made an impact on the game. They were getting the Dolphins chant going throughout the game and making noise when we were on defense. And when you can do that in an away stadium, it’s huge.”
Unless, of course, you’re a Washington player or fan, and you have to watch someone else celebrate in your kitchen.

I was surprised to see so many phin's jerseys in Washington yesterday. Got to admit though, hearing that Lets go Dolphins chant over and over in that stadium was pretty bad ***. Hopefully our own fans show up at home and support as well.

It really was something. I was late getting to the game (stupid metro) and had to sprint to the stadium. I was worried the Skins must be up by 2 TD because of all the cheering. Turns out much of the cheering I heard was Dolphin fans. During the game there were several very well organized and extremely loud "Let's go Dolphins!" chants.
Also, the Redskins could be seen on offense several times trying to unsuccessfully quiet the crowd. There were several D-FENCE chants while Skins were on offense. It was something. I added my voice of course.
Overall had a good time at the game. Redskins fans are some of the friendliest fans when it comes to being a visitor in their stadium. Except for the one obnoxious dude who expected me to high five him every time the Skins did something good. "Come on man, it was a good play!"
Turns out I was jinxing the team by being there. I left my seat at start of second half and that's when they took the lead. I didn't return until there were 5 minutes left in the 4th.GARDENHEAD, jdallen1222, Ohio Fanatic and 1 other person like this. -

I was there, I was shocked at how many Dolphin fans were there. We were chanting as loud as the Skins fans and when Landry returned that punt the place was rocking. Great showing by the fans there. The article is right, the facility is a complete piece of trash, I mean there are like 3 different places to eat lines out of the stadium for bathrooms, it was pathetic that the NFL has games there. Horrible stadium, truly horrible. The metro ride home was over 2hrs which was ridiculous but hey it was the first time Ive been able to watch a Dolphins game so I was happy we got the win.

You could hear it on TV. Both chants, throughout the game.
Seeing the photos today was great.Fin4Ever, Silverphin and MonstBlitz like this. -
Agreed on the stadium. Although the chili cheese super dog (that I was ordering when Landry scored) and pulled pork nachos were pretty solid. I purposefully did not drink any soda or beer at the game in an attempt to avoid the bathroom lines which left me dangerously dehydrated on the metro ride home. -

At least most of the fans were tolerable, some were idiots but you have that everywhere.

They have for quite some time now. People are often shocked at this due to how terrible the franchise has been since the Marino years. But it's still a near 50 year old franchise that had decades and decades of success and respectability.
Also, Miami sports fans are often punching bags regardless.dolphin25 likes this. -
theres a pic out there on this forum, I forget if its in the club or somewhere else that shows a wide angle shot...this thread is not an exagerration, it was at 60/40 from the section I saw, which was half of the lower bowl..

Wish I could have been there! Live less than two hours away, but coordinating things would have been tough with our two little kids, plus I'm unemployed, lol.
I'm hoping to get to the games in Baltimore, Pittsburgh and/or Charlotte over the next few seasons.dolphin25 likes this. -

The Dolphins always travel well, and this being a very exciting season for many fans because of all the hype surrounding the offseason, they are coming out of the woodwork, they also sold out of season tickets really quick.
The big teams from the 70s, when the NFL was really coming into it's own as America's new pass time, all still travel well, Dolphins, Cowboys, Steelers and Raiders, these teams helped shape the modern fabric of the NFL, but the Steelers travel better than any other team.
Thanks to Ross, and his marketing deal with Seaworld, the Fins are now orange and green, I hate the new color, I hate the new logo and I think Ross is the worst owner this storied franchise has had since before the merger. -
-
I don't get it...there's hardly any orange in the uniforms, and their "green" isn't "green" to me. Want "green?" Check out the Jets uniforms.

Tannehill said it was the best road showing by our fans that he's seen.
I guess that means we're going to have to be louder at the MetLife takeover game this season than usual.number21 likes this. -
