hope they find him. can't imagine a scarier scenario as a parent.

Let's just hope he's missing due to just some dumb thing that many 21-year-olds do from time to time, and nothing foul. Nothing scarier for a parent!
-
Has to be difficult to game plan for the game this weekend with that going on. Hope they find him and he's OK.

My prayers to Coach Philbin and his family...I hope there is no foul play involved here...good luck and we hope you find him soon...

Seriously hope all is well and he is found. However being a Dolphins site I can't help but think how this would relate to us as well. If something truly is wrong here we can scratch him off the list of candidates for multiple family reasons.
Meaning Zimmer will probably be the choice for coach this week. I think we need a coach in place within the next 2 weeks at the latest. -
man my prayers are with him, my five year old daughter is sleeping next door, cant imagine what i would do, if she was missing

maybe he took his talents to south beach a little early without telling anyone. Is he Polish?

How do you focus on work with a missing kid? although, 2am sunday? its only monday afternoon. hopefully he's just sleeping a rough night off.

Despite his past, it's still terrible and scary. I couldn't imagine what this is like for the parents. I hope all ends well.

Deadspin says they think he may have been intoxicated and fell into an icy river and drowned.

SO, one of our coaching candidates has a sexual predator for a son.
I hope they find him floating somewhere. -

Report says he left party at 2 a.m. .... report of someone falling into icy river was at 2:30 a.m. Hopefully, coincidence, but ouch, not good.

Dude is too stupid to call a cab when drunk and likes to molest kids.
Yeah its not like we're losing an esteemed member of society here. -
He is for sure was an 18 year old who liked taking advantage of drunk 16 year old girls.Tin Indian, unluckyluciano and Two Tacos like this. -

I live in oshkosh wisconsin. The river runs right next to the university, right out of lake winnebago. Lots of kids drinking and partying and stumbling between parties and bars and dorms around there. Temperatures were below freezing last night.

Not looking good. But if it's him, sooner is better than never for a family.

Horrible for the family, regardless of whatever mistakes the guy did or didn't make in his own life.
As this is a dolphins site, I wonder if Philbin is going to be in any condition to consider a head coaching job anywhere should the worst be confirmed. I imagine all teams considering him will need to scratch him, unfortunately -
Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει
I would tend to agree with the last few posts. I think you can probably cross Philbin off the list. Which means it appears that Miami is down to plan C (assuming Fisher and Philbin were A/B).
At this point, does it make more sense to keep Todd Bowles, Daboll, and Nolan together and simply add as many pieces as we can via free agency and the draft?Pandarilla likes this. -

They also basically put the pieces together since the timeline of when everyone saw the kid last, and reports of someone falling through the ice match up. It might have been a guess, but it appears to be an educated guess. -
Looks like it's over

All I know is this....
Coach Philbin may have lost a son. I cant even fathom....FATHOM...the pain he and his family are feeling at this time. I cant help but feel for him and his family, and football is so far remote as far as he is concerned. He may have lost his baby son.....no matter how old your kids get, they are always your babies.
Please....lets try and think of the family when commenting.
Just read it has been confirmed. What a sad time for the Philbin family.....

Sucks for Coach Philbin. It's one thing when you're expecting someone to pass in the near future (for example if they have an disease/illness), but it's another when it's like this.
