But, there are so many what-ifs for this franchise. Like I say, they can't do anything right, not even tank!
Thanks for bringing it up tho Pump, I'm not really salty we let Flo go either way. I'm upset Grier is still on the payroll, so we're on the same page there.resnor likes this. -
We obv weren't going anywhere in 2019, so what the hell is the point of winning 5 games? effectively nothing. You just lose your shot at the most sure thing QB, instead of putting yourself in position to make the wrong decision between the overhyped Tua and the NFL-ready Herbert.resnor likes this. -
That's basically the same thing I just posted on my own speculation- Flores was doomed from day 1 for fielding a winning team. He was the only non-player in the building that actually wanted to win each week.
I hate that we missed out on Burrow, but darn...I respect the heck out of Flores nonetheless.Phil Hutchings likes this. -
Didn't Ross say one of the reasons they got rid of Gase was because he wanted to "win now". They could see 500 win records weren't going to amount to anything so they wanted to rebuild. So Flores tried to win games when he knew they didn't want him to. So no i'm not sad Flo is gone he jeopardized our future for a couple wins to pad his stats.

This team has the defense to compete for a SB and even a top WR. We're missing the QB because we can't evaluate talent well, which means you have to make it as easy as possible for your GM: get the #1 pick and even the Dolphins wouldn't have screwed this up.resnor likes this. -

Burrow just took a team with the same level of talent that Miami has to the Super Bowl. I’d trade in 4 of those wins for him any day of the week. -
Another thing i thought of if we end up picking 10th in that draft and Miami knows Tua and Herbet would be gone Cinci wasn't budging on Burrow. I bet Miami trades the 10th and 15th or whatever it was and then some to trade up for Tua! That second 1st pick was Jackson no big loss there but still more incompetence for sure.

For the record, I was 100% against all of it and said the move would cripple us for the next 5+ years. The only way it worked was for Grier to hit on almost every single pick, and that's just not realistic. I called him a snake-oil salesman three years ago and my opinion hasn't really changed, even with the elite defense since I think that was more Flores than anyone.
Still hoping that I'm wrong, but this is the worst I've ever felt about this organization after a winning season.dolphin25, JJ_79, Phin McCool and 1 other person like this. -
While we're on the subject of Ross, I know he gets panned around here for being an idiot (and I join that chorus), but I think the truth is somewhat different. A guy like that doesn't succeed to that degree without having good decision making ability.
However.. Ross is NOT focused on the Dolphins as his main business. This is closer to a hobby of his than his main focus in real estate. I actually think Ross would do well if he made the Dolphins his primary focus. He doesn't do that though. He delegates instead of taking the time to learn the game himself, and makes suggestions on what to do instead of taking control and being focused on details.
Anyway, it is what it is. We've been screwed for too long, but I think the real problem is his lack of prioritization on making the Dolphins a winning organization, not that he's "dumb" per se (like it matters lol).resnor likes this. -
