Tolbert said he isn’t a big talker and therefore questions how well he’d mesh with the loudmouth Jets.
“I like letting my play do the talking,” Tolbert said, via ESPN.com. “I don’t like to do a lot of talking off the field. I like to do it in between the lines. So that’s a place that I would think about but I’m not too sure that I would end up going there.”
Tolbert’s take on the Jets is that they have too many players who “seek out the limelight just so they can be seen.”
“If that’s their personality, if that’s the way they want to do it, that’s fine, but I’m not that type of guy,” Tolbert said.

I actually think Tolbert would compliment Bush very well. Strong back, always ends up in the endzone. Ive always been high on Tolbert

I have always liked him when he was out here with the Chargers. I believe he was only making like a little over a million a season.

Love, Love that idea. we have not had a true FB since Polite and Tolbert is practically another guard out there
-
Mike can play special teams really well too.

He averaged 4.0 yards a carry behind a passing offensive line that was hurt all year. -
Tolbert, Bush, and Clay on the field at the same time in certain packages......

Tolbert is fine, I like Hillis a bit better but would not complain about Tolbert.

Kuhn got a lot of usage in GB behind Starks and Grant. There could very well be a place for Tolbert.
Bush is still available too. But I see him getting paid somewhere. Very possibly Cleveland. That would allow them to go wild in the first round by bringing in Blackmon and Weeden possibly, or Kendall Wright if they believe in McCoy. Maybe even Fleener in the second. Man. With this rookie wage scale they could really do some damage.Aquafin likes this. -
I always remeber Tolbert as a thumping blocker primarily. Am I wrong?

FFIC you were a fan of Burner Turner too I think?
I loved Turner and still wish we had pursued him more. I agree, I think Tolbert would be a great addition - guy has a nose for the endzone and seems to make a lot of plays for a big guy. It would depend on his asking price though. If a team like the Bengals toss a pile of paper at him I don't think we could match. -
If we sign another RB without addressing the QB situation I'll sending a **** sandwich to Ireland.

Anything so we stop using Bush in goal line situations. He just isn't the right back for that type of scenario.

[h=1]Mathews, Tolbert on record pace[/h]
A strained calf and a concussion slowed their assault on the record book, but Chargers running backs Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert returned to practice Monday and, seemingly fully healthy, are still on track to cover more ground through the air than any running back tandem in NFL history.
With a combined 492 receiving yards through five games, Mathews and Tolbert are on pace for 1,574 yards, which would be 113 more than Miami’s Terry Kirby and Keith Byars had in 1993. Mathews’ and Tolbert’s 48 receptions puts them on pace for 154, which would be four fewer than what the New York Jets’ Richie Anderson and Curtis Martin had in 2000. -

I'd like either Bush or Tolbert. whichever one ends up being cheaper.

Signing Tolbert would be a very good move IMO. Wonder what he would cost.

with the issues we had at the goaline last few years, Tolbert would be a perfect compliment to Reggie and our offense. Especially if we sign Eric winston at RT

Is there a chance we sign Tolbert and sign te Bennett from dallas both ?
